Basically stock GTS-T, full 3" exhaust fron turbo back, high flow cat. Boost controller set to 10psi. Auto.

Car is ok if driving lightly on throttle, if you gradually accelerate its not too bad but put foot down and it cuts out

Read a lot of conflicting advice on here about R&R, airflow cut etc..

Any ideas?

It'll be AFM hitting peak voltage.

AFM sees so much air that the ECU thinks it's failing or something is broken, so it goes into failsafe until the voltages drop back down.

Not much you can do cept get a ECU (and replacement AFM), either piggyback or full replacement. Not recommended to go with a "fuel cut defender" type device since all they do is fake the AFM signal once it goes "out of spec" of what the ECU expects, but AFM signal is used to plot load on your fuel map, so the ECU will start leaning out the engine and cause bad things to happen :D

You can try and drop the boost back down on the controller, its probably going a bit over where you expect it to sit, just bring it back down a PSI at a time till it stops doing it. Also remember air temp affects AFM readings and air density as well, so cold nights naturally raise your airflow in.

Cuts out meaning stops altogether? Keeps going but feels soft? Picks up later?

There threads are pretty common, you need to perform basic troubleshooting

1. Check/clean AFM

2. Check/inspect coils

3. Check spark plugs

4. Check all electrical connections 3 times each

5. Ensure timing is set correctly

6. Back off the boost and see what happens, goes away = R&R

And go from there really.

Thanks guys.

Cutting out.. sometimes it just cuts revs altogether, normally happens around 4500 - 5k other times it revs but feels like its making bugger all power.

Sometimes it will rev out, but just feels very soft

Coils are brand new Splitfires, plugs are new, gapped to .8.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
