Well, I'm in the middle of sorting finance out cause I may be heading out to the states right after the GP.

I will make a few inquires in the next few days about apartments.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have just paid the entry for the 2004 grand Prix rally. That includes two tickets to the GP.

Best place to stay is Southbank appartments. cheaper than hotel and a walk to city and tram and if you take a car it has lock up security parking.

www.grandprix.com.au

look under cars

then click on rally.

$400 discount if you book early.

Now there's an important piece of information. We taking your new r31 this time pete?

I'm 'interested' - would def. join you guys in the grandstand - but will make alternative accomodation arragements cause I fart, burp, snore, hookers, drink, skanks, drink, burp, fart, snore, etc, etc - j/ks (actually I got relos)

Would be driving down.

Ok, it's Brabham Stand and I've picked out the hotels closest to the CBD and the circuit. That way we can move around without too much hassels of cabs and trams. They are:

Oakford on Collins - $876 triple, $805 quad

Punt Hill Flinders Lane - $918 triple, $837 quad

Pacific Int. Southbank - $1038 triple, $927 quad

Let us know which one you would prefer.

Also depending on the number of people wanting to share accomodation, will decide on price because it varies if it's quad or triple share. Hopefully we can get 8 people so split it up to 2 appartments.

B-Man, it's $579 for just the Brabham stand.

Oakford on Collins - $876 triple, $805 quad

That includes brabham stand tickets, doesnt it?

Anyways, I'm in, I'd prefer the cheapest hotel on the list, as I don't think we'll be spending much time there.

That's what I was thinking.

Hope either couple don't mind having a single guy with them. We only snore, fart, smoke, burp, eat with dirty hands, wipe a$$ with hands, scratch ass, pick nose, live like cops, etc...

Were not that bad are we?

Yep, still in for 2, happy to share.

But.....there's no way we're sharing with pete, its not the "snore, fart, smoke, burp, eat with dirty hands, wipe a$$ with hands, scratch ass, pick nose, live like cops" that worries me, its the noise he makes when he falls off a balcony :)

Speak for yourself

Ok, it's all true. Although I think everybody wipes their asses with their hands (holding TP), unless some of you can do it with your feet...

Can't wait.

Bad news. Just got a reply from GP travel and there are only 3 Hotels that are offering packages at this time. The cheapest one is Hotel Ibis and they want $882 pp triple share. It's about 4 km from circuit but it's close by the casino.

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
