okay everyone...

autosalon is in 11 days from now and i still haven't received my rear bar and my painter is waiting on it...

everything else on the car is done, i just don't have a rear bar!!!

i ordered the rear bar from monkey warehouse in queensland and i believe it was sent away last monday... 8 days ago from today...

nobody has come to my house to deliver nor have they gone to the painters workshop, i haven't been left anything in the mailbox either...

i just want to know where i stand and what i can do besides ask monkey warehouse directly for a consignment number...

i will be doing this tomorrow morning, i haven't been calling them the last two days because i expected it to arrive at home, of which it hasn't...

so, other than calling them tomorrow for a consignment number and then calling the courier company to chase up on it, is there anything i can do ie.

get them to send me another one, with next day postage? how much would that cost?

anything!!!

i am stressing out here, car looks so good but i need to sort out my rims too, there is way too much stress coming over me at the moment *shakes head* getting quite frustrated, courier companies and Monkey Warehouse themselves told me it shouldn't have taken more than 5 working days to arrive in Perth Metro...

it's been 6 already!!!

any constructive advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers

Andrew

/mod edit: Caps lock jesus.

should call them up and get tracking number and that, only way you can find out.

even if you ask them to send another one, will take another 5 days for that one to come in. less time to work on it.

should be in this week i reckon

Good luck with it and cant wait to see it at autosalon

Generally normal freight stuff east-west coast only travels 2 days of the week, so if you just missed one date, it should be here in 2-3 days tops... call them and ask for tracking details.

btw... give me a pm/call about my stereo shit you owe me for, when the stress of Autosalon is gone.

Cheers

Number of factors to consider:

Did the company take it to courier the day you payed for it?

Did the courier put it on the first available vehicle etc?

Has the courier been delayed or had priority listings?

Has the depot in Perth actually sorted through there crap and got the product out to you?

Has some amateur courier delivery person been to house and left a note etc?

I ordered a kit for my Gtr from a reputable company who is a major sponsor of SAU - they told me it would take 5-7 days to arrive! It took nearlly 3 months for the kit to arrive!

The company would not answer my emails, so I tried calling a number of times and the blame simpley kept getting handed off; the courier was at fault, the depot has lost it, its fallen of the truck etc!

Haha In the end I got my old lady on the phone and she threatend them etc and finally got the name of courier company and depot! Turns out it had been sitting in perth for 2 and a half months and they had overlooked it and to go with that when they came to deliver it; they simpley dumped the kit at the front door and left, I was working away at the time and had to get a friend to go get it out of the front yard before it was knicked!

I would not stress until you have spoken to the them and got a consignment number to track it.

Most companies these days have an online tracking system.

Its not uncommon that for bigger items they will be left off the local delivery truck to fit in 20 smaller items. If your item was not marked "EXPRESS" then they can take 10-14 days to deliver. With this in mind, you may find its sitting on a dock somewhere and a phone call to explain whats happening may propmt them to make room.....or you could arrange to pick it up.

But dont stress until you have taken those steps first

    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
