any news 'boostdR' about your choice with turbo setup? how did u go with the gtrs v's 618z?

i am looking at the same thing & possibly building up an rb30 with 618z's (my current gtss setup will be too small for an rb30 if i take this path)

im not sure where matt is up to but ive got my setup running.

my 'forklift' rb30 (tongue in cheek dirtgarage lol) with garrett -10's made 270.9awkw @ 6500rpm on 10psi, rich run-in tune.

final tune is booked for next week :) very happy with results thus far

i posted a thread here with dyno graph if u want more info: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pr...la-t277399.html

Hi all,

I ended up with a 89mm sleeved bore rb263# ?? HKS GTRS turbo's, E85 and 8.7 to 8.8:1 Comp for E85. I have had it on the Dyno for a initial tune. Maxed the fuel pump out @ 534kw and 20psi. I have a new fuel pump now and will install and get it happening.

Will be playing with the ingnition trasition onto boost and the cam gears for some extra response. I am using Stainless Mani's but may see if the 6boost ones fit without having to move all my lines.

Matt

Before and after. Similar response with more power

For those wanting to know if the HKS version of turbo is better. I can say they still surge slightly when loading up on boost in a high gear/low rpm...sound like a Cho cho train. I have no BOV's. Installing the std BOV's would prob fix most part throttle surge...but it's very minor and doesn't bother me.

Me personally, I'd go for HKS GT-RS twins interestingly. I'm not arguing with what your tuner says - but if I had not heard that and for some strange reason I wanted to go for twins at that power level, HKS GT-RS would be floating around the top of my list. Going for under 272deg duration is probably not something I'd do when going for turbos that size/power that high however.

The CAMS I ended up using are much smaller than 272 with just under 10mm. They work extremmely well. The Prelude was that we actually ordered a set of JUN 272's for a customers track GTR with -10's but by mistake got the lower duration and figured we will give them a go...results were very impressive and suprising to say the least.

534kw YIKES!

u make me want to switch to E85 sooner rather than later! with that fuel u should be able to run 30psi without a problem.

is this power reading rwkw, awkw or engine dyno?

amazing power from the good old low mount setup, congrats :P:):P

that 380kw is a lie, check out the intake temps of 63degrees,

lol, agreed. Not sure what the correction would be. I have other graphs for 372 @ IT of ~21degree's

good spot

I more put it up for a Curve comparsion

It's at the Fly Marko. Was 457kw at the wheels.

Fuel setup currently is a GTR pump and single 044. I have another 044 to go in. Injectors(1000cc) are pretty much out of flow already even with my high rail pressure.

haha, atleast u admit it lol.

when are you taking it to test it at eastern creek

I don't live in Syd anymore. I'm in Adelaide. Will be at Mallala this weekend.

Will be Pit Crewing at Eastern Creek on the 3-5th of Sep. Might bring it up to WSID on the truck.....May need a couple of spare gearboxes...

that figure of 457awkw is aligned with what my tuner advised i could achieve if i switched to e85.

what exhuast diameter are u running?

Will be there on Sat. All day

Come say Hi.

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
