Hi all

anyone can you help me ?

I have Nissan skyline gtsx 89 (kcr) r31 coupe .

I fit it engine RB25DET AND GEARBOX (TRANSMISSION)R33 ECR33 GTS TYPE M !

I NEED know what type rear gearbox ( differential ) suitable for the engine and transmission direct fit on the kcr R31?

because original (OEM) differential not enough to the rb25det with

transmission !! ( high RPM LOW SPEED AND NOT GOOD RESPONSE ON THE LOW RPM !!!

FOR the powerful and top speed and good response ?

NOTE: modify dump pipe ,,exhaust system complete ,, air intake filter,, big intercooler only !! ,, stock turbo stock engine . etc :):(

Thanks all .

Hi .

PLZ : I need from your help to me and I like for advise to me !

my ask to you is : I have skyline gtsx 89( coupe ) cases kcr / R 31 ORIGINAL ENGINE RB 30e carburetor !! I change engine and FIT it RB25DET AND GEARBOX( TRANSMISSION) FROM GTS ECR /R33 !!

( WHAT IS the type the suitable differential fit it ) ?? for that engine & gear box ? for the racing street and bitter bower ,, top speed and response ( only modify : dump pipe and complete exhaust system 3 inch ,,air filter intake and change big intercooler kit( i mean changed OEM small intercooler use it !! stock engine and turbo etc . ( PLZ : I need know suitable differential for the engine and gearbox direct fit it ON THE gtsx 89 R31!! ( low RPM ,,TOP SPEED and high speed !!

(( because original differential not good and not enough ? (differential number 10,000 ,39 Rack!

example : 3000 rpm and speed meeter 140 KM !!

Thank you for your time .

Best regards .

Keep in mind i have no idea what the f**k you are saying so i will try my best.

you will need an R200 Long Nose Diff, the R31 coupe comes with them stock im pretty sure. this diff has the same sized crownwheel (internals) as the R32/33/34 diff's so yes it will be strong enough.

as for ratio, get a 4.1, this is what the R33 has stock and since you are fitting the 33 motor and box, you'll essentially have the same drivetrain as a 33.

MY skyline gtsx kcr R31 RB30e middle east state of Kuwait , I need strong

street racing ,response gear one -2-3-4 and not stop on the gear 5 !! to the

top speed ( I mean on the gear 5 does not begin to drop !!

Thank you again .

Sounds like you have a 3.9:1 ratio long nose R200 differential. I would retain this differential and fit a suitable limited slip centre. It should compliment the RB25DET and gearbox quite well.

The original differential casing in the R31 is a load bearing item; the R33 casings are not. I would advise it is not a good idea to try and use the R33 differential housing.

Thank you for your reply ..

(( I hope that you find a solution to this problem!! diff ...

Well , what difference between RB25DET,250HP r33 and RB25DET Neo ER34 280hp?? why? ( injectors , camshaft,Turbo .etc

PLZ : I HOPE let me know for that !

Thank you very much again .

Differential: - All are R200

84-86 Z31 Turbo: 3.54:1 - Open

09/86-04/87 Z31 Turbo: 3.7:1 - Open

04/87-89 Z31 Turbo: 3.7:1 - Clutch LSD

PLZ : any type suitable of diff I can choice from top write ??

Thank you ....

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
