Hi guys.

I just bought a sparco aviator style fuel filler for my r32, as i'm doing a widebody conversion.

I know how to mold it and all, but just wondering exactly how i hook up the sparco neck?

It says i need a 2" hose that connects to the sparco neck and the other end to the fuel tank. Only problem is that the stock filler is in my way.

So can i somehow remove the stock rubber boot and filler and run a whole new hose to the tank?

thanks

yes that is simple enough, the factory filler is held in by a rubber moulding that pulls straight out. and at the tank end it is just a hose clamp holding the pipe on. Not sure if it is 2" diameter though so you might need to change diameters on the way some how.

even better would be mounting the standard neck in the wide guards. I hope that is a breather in the cap because the tank needs to vent.

Thanks for the info.

I don't quite understand what you mean about mounting the standard neck in the guards could you elaborate?

As for the breather, had a look at it and it doesn't seem to have one? But there is a little bit of play in the cap itself so i'm sure it can vent that way.

Hi mate, I just mean have a look into using the standard filler neck with its rubber boot in the wide guard section. Or depending on how much wider the new guards are, just leave the standard filler in its standard spot and move the filler cover to the new guards - just reach in a bit further.

I think mounting the new one is going to be a PITA unless you know what you are doing. For instance the factory tank has a filler line and a breather line but the aftermarket setups only allow for the filler line

BTW I had another look at the first pic, I'm pretty sure that is a small breather next to the handle on the cap. On the rear does it have a spring loaded section? If so pressure on the rear will open that small vent.

Yes just had another look it does have a breather :(

I thought about using the stock filler neck, but the sparco fuel lid opening is quite small, so i can't fit my hand inside to remove fuel cap...if you get what i mean.

It should be straight foward to get it all fitted, just trying to remove the the stock filler is a problem.

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
