I was in until I checked what boost the car was holding (found it was down to mid 16psi) so fiddled with the actuator and broke the arm.

Rewelded the arm and then lost the custom made section that screws on to the actuators arm. :P

Not going to make another for the lazy 1bar actuator.

Picking up a 19psi actuator from MTQ tomorrow but don't like the chances of welding up another custom rod and then giving it a quick street tune in time.

Either way if the car is ready in time or not I'll be there. :D

im still running the 18 actuator,

i took it to shaun on tuesday but when everthing is hot as hell its a joke to even contemplate getting in there.

so i wil change it in a few weeks when i have 2 hands again.

Its all good buddy.

Popped down to MTQ today and checked out the 19psi actuator. The seat pressure felt a tad soft and not much if any more than the 1bar actuator. Testing it she cracked off the seat around 12psi.

I checked out the slightly more expensive 14psi Large can and MFG I can't even lift the thing off its seat.

The larger can has a spring that is a shit load stiffer as the diaphram is larger so more surface area etc etc.

I went with that as it will hold against the flap pushing open much better.

Now to try and squeeze it in. :P

mitch dont be a bitch

put the thing on the dyno

i am sure you have given it shit on the streets

so a dyno run wont hurt

at least you will know how much u pulling without a proper tune

lol u should feel the 25.4 psi one i have

i will bring it with on saturday, if i remember for a show and tell between cars.

no no tune Krishy kindly lent me my old PFC so will run with that and at least crack 210ish should be more cause im trying to wind to boost up safely

unfortunately it was tuned on 10psi so 15psi see's it leaning out a little @ high rpm

anyone know how to road tune

oh also added 600rpm and it goes like a freight train when boost hits

i concur

what time is this saturday and can i rock up and pay ?

yeah you should be able to pay on the day rock up around 10am

i concur :D

yeah you should be able to pay on the day rock up around 10am

will have to see what happens

got a feeling im ment to be working but may call up saying i cannot attend work as i have to blow a commodore away

watch your knock count on the hand controller dude.........keep it under 60 when boosting

Steve,

I'd be super careful on 1bar. 1bar 'should' be up around 240rwkwish and the injectors are only 370cc so only good for a little over 200rwkw before they are max'd and afr's start heading north.

On a side note here's my fat actuator. No more boost drop for me

Its mounted, bracket modded rod shortened etc now just have to cut and weld the screw on section that attaches the wastegate.

yeah will do guys i will double check the boost controller because it was set to the lowest and goes straight to about 15-16 on my gauge but my gauge is inaccurate by about 2psi

so will try it in the other way tomorrow or get rid of it

I could plug in my dataloggit and wideband and go for quick blast if you like?

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
