Neons - Blown Transformer

Ok so i have a neon kit with a blown transformer... how can i power them?

the transformer did 12v DC into 7000v AC! Dicksmiths and JayCar were useless.

you have to buy a new transformer.. they almost as expensive to buy as the neons.. is it an under car neon kit? with four wires goin down into the one wire? i got one

It is an undercar kit... the transformer had one red wire and a metal plate, and 2 black wires commin off the other end. When i went to jaycar he said he would assume the red with the fuse goes to a 12v power source, the metal plate grounds to the chasis, and the other 2 black wires would connect up to either end of the neons... However there is some heat damage to the plastic under the transformer where it looks like its blown. The diagram that came with the kit did a really poor job of explaining the wiring, it had the colours of the cables in reverse and was hard to make heads or tales off....

If u wire up a transformer in reverse it can blow yeah??

If your neon's are busted then a really easy way to make your car just as ghey would be to spray paint a giant erect penis right along the side

post a pick of the transformer.. if it was wired up to a fuse then the fuse will blow before the transformer.. its the smart thing to do.. who hooked the neons up?

Ok so turns out the transformer is fine my testing methods were wrong lol... Wired them up today!
