Some of you may remember my post about getting screwed over by "mechanics" in adelaide. Since therapy i can now openly speak about that. So i thought i might get my rear quater panel fixed, obviously by a panel beater and bring some pride back into my 32.

I bought the panel myself and had it freighted to the workshop. I was told it would be ready in 4 - 6 weeks. So 2 months later it hasn't even been started yet. Just sitting in his shed looking all depressed while i drive a sierra around that can't even go the speed limit. The reason it hasn't been started is, quote; "i'm waiting on a panel beater to come over from Tasmania".

Now he is a panel beater / spray painter. I can understand if he hasn't got time because he is busy but telling me bulls**t lies has made me quite agrivated. He won't even give me a quote. So i want to take it elsewhere but after the trouble i've already been through does anybody know a reliable, reputable, quality panel beater?

I dream of a magical place in a far away land where mechanics and customers live as one and we co-exist in peace and harmony. Can anyone help???

cheers vinnie, yeah where i work probably isnt the cheapest either. but we do quality work, its not like these volume shops that crank out as many jobs as possible, we take some time to get it right. :(

your old shed made a good backyard spray booth, haha.

going from the shed, with pit, and room to fit about 4 cars in, to the one i have now, which only *just* fits the onevia in, sucks!

Yeah, black 32. I'll get it back eventually... I noticed the 33 when you first got it in the bridge and then found out a little bit more through the people i'm renting a room off at the moment.

I did have a thread about rav 4's a while ago. Short is it pulled out infornt of me and took out my drivers side from front panel, door and to the fuel cap. However it was under dubious circumstances and have learnt my lesson. But i still hate them as they are a joke and can't be classified as a 4wd.

actually i think ive met you before that, i had a chat to you when u worked at dominos?

Yeah that's true, good old Domino's that was a long time ago. I used to try to talk to anyone in an import especially skylines and there weren't any other 33's that looked as nice as yours. I think Joel and Amanda had 33's but that was it. I still hear updates with your's through the roommates.

haha, that brings back memories. i remember dominos carpark always had the lineup of black 32s, normally yours, that gts-4 with the vented bonnet and sometimes that n/a one. i always parked there to go to the bank and have a sus of the other lines

cheers man, i always tried to keep the 33 clean i spose. were joel and amandas 33s the burgandy and oranges ones? do i know your roommates?

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
