Hi

A while ago (more than a year ago hehe) when fitting a new dump pipe, the installer snapped one of the bolts on the back of the turbo, resulting in an exhaust leak. This has recently gotten a LOT louder, and tomorrow I am having a friend of a friend who is a mechanic pull off the turbo, fix the snapped bolt, and then put it back together.

My question is should I purchase a new gasket/s to suit, and or new bolts from Nissan before he starts this? Do most Nissan dealers stock these parts? Oh by the way its an R34 GT-T that we are talking about here.

Also, will he need to drain the oil when pulling it off?

Thanks!! :)

also replace the manifold studs & gasket, every single one of them :P

Yes its not necessary, but over the next few years, R34's will see the same problems R32's and R33's have with manifold studs failing and/or leaking manifold gasket... and generally you'll break a few studs trying to replace the gasket... so do it all at once.

Common problem with RB's (20/25s) for whatever reason.
