wow this thread went downhill, good to see the mods close a thread were we were trying to clarify a rule regarding police yet they leave shit talking 4 page waste of a thread to go..........nice

what do you mean went down hill  ....... it started in a hole that just got deeper :P rofl

like i said if your not gonna be helpfull then shutup and go somewhere else hes trying to get intrest so that something gets done! and yes they do want our side of the story theres big public intrest in this topic. and the title would go something like this CAR ENTHUSIUSTS WANT TO MAKE THE STREETS SAFER. he has said nothing about taking this to the streets (wow not only are you thick but also illiterate) he wants there to be a safe (off the street) environment to enjoy the motorSPORT called drifting, just like how they have football fields for SPORT and etc. the cops can still go hastling hoons but if they sit outside a known safe spot to harrass you then the public would soon find out what adelaide cops are really all about (hence we win again). all the points aahh31 has made are valid and should be supported, otherwise i will lose my respect for the imort scene, i wont have anything to do with people that wont support there fellow enthusiusts. wow now im tierd lol think ill go give my hands a warm shower :P. also sorry if i offended people but if your not going to do anything about it you have no right to complain.

so what i can't speak my mind even if it's not in agreement with others opinion? fkn bunch of nancy's when someone opposes

well i'm guessing after hours ttp isn't the shopping centre? or is there somewhere in ttp that my thick head doesn't know about that can cater for many cars sliding around?

never said aahh31's points were invalid! just ambitious!

and losing respect for the import scene? Shiet mate that ship has already sailed for me, the only people i respect when it comes to imports are right here on this forum!

as Roo has said! don't try to make another place for motorsports! why not use the existing one? organise events there is what my opinion was getting at!

and so what if i complain huh? are you gonna be a b!tch and not gonna take it on the chin as what you'll probably be getting if you go through with this?

geez i can already see this isn't gonna get anywhere

please do speak yor minds :P after all isnt that what the site is all about???? i think tempers flair up to quick but

there has been some valid points made but i would still like to get something happening...... maybe try to get the owners of pt gawler to reconsider opening for us??

Edited by aahh31

pt gawler shut down due to insurence reasons and also the track was mainly built as a go kart track cars drifting arount it was tearing the track up quite badly .

but if you want to contact the owners ring active motor wreckers at evenston nr gawler and ask to speak to ronnie or frank or ricky if there not away racing sprintcars

is a great lil go cart track, i try get up there once a month with mates in a few carts

my dad and i went out to use the track aaaaggggeeesss ago....but they wouldnt let us drift it with cars on the track..... we ended up on the salt flats throwing 100ft rooster tails at 100 mile an hour... yeee haaa

Every one knows (or should know) that no matter how many tracks the gov builds/opens, nothings going to stop the 'hoons' from 'hooning' on the streets. Track = no adrenaline rush (sorry, but for me, driving/drifting around and around and around in a big circle just isnt for me), and theres no thrill of getting caught by the popo, in the end u dont havta pay to drag, drift or race on the street, so u will always have hoons and dick heads!

My 2c.

i think you are a complete f*ck head.

you clearly do not deserve your license back at all.

Ahhh where exactly did i say it was me?? Read it again before you go shouting your mouth off!

May I ask how did GTR-32 lose his license?!

By the sounds of things, it was during a heated speeding chase away from the cops?!

Lost it by as they put it these days 'creeping' over the speed limit to get to work 2 minutes earlier a few times and got flashed by red light speed camera's (yeah say what ya want but everyone finds themselfs doing it every now and then)

whats worse is bragging about it on a respected site like this.

f*k tard.

go to ns.com

and once again, where did i say it was me? :O

Also I guess i cant really speak about driving/drifting on a race track, as i have never tried it, but i will have to try it out and see for myself. Funny how this thread reminds me of one on NS.com with some of the comments im reading!

lets all chip in and buy a block of land, only need like 2 acres, about 100 bags of cement, and we can build our own little drift track :O

You make it sound easy.

Where are you going to find land that big that is not zoned Hills Face Zone, or Residential, or any other zone not intended for race tracks?

Do you know what development fees are involved?

Do you know the excavation costs, as well as site survey costs, ERD Court fees, not to mention the waiting period for the approvals, and thats well before Council would even want to look at it.

Then Council might not want to touch it and refer it to the Development Assessment Commission ... especially if its a Category 3 application.

You'll need an engineers report before you start, and they're not cheap.

You'll need Council approval, and you'll never get it.

You'll need CAMS approval and inspections

You'll need qualified staff to manage the track

You'll definately require insurance to cover you, and thats expensive! You'll need proof of insurance before anyone will start work on it.

Nah, get everyone to sign a form releasing the property owner from any legal responsibility, "enter at your own risk mofos" :)

Wouldn't be worth the paper its written on. Applicants would still require a Recreational Licence.

How can we take anything you say in a positive way when you talk alot of shit like this ^^^

Talk shit about track days when you've never done it :) Then hinting you like the thrill of getting caught by the police. "Where did (you) say that?". You're saying it indirectly above. I don't care how carefully you word it to hide behind your 'escape clause' comments, please keep you're stupidity for yourself or just keep it to ns.com

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
    • So I prepped the car for another track day on Wednesday (will be interesting to see coolant temps post flushing out and the larger reservoir, with a forecast of 3-14 being 20o cooler than last time I took it out). Couple of things to mention; since I am just driving the car and not taking a support vehicle, I took the rear seats out and just loaded the back up Team Trackday style. Look at all that space! To cover off removing the rear seat....it is weird (note the hybrid is probably different because it wouldn't have folding rear seats) Basically, you remove the lower seat base, very similar to a r series but it is a clip that pulls forward to release the base rather than it being bolted down. Easy Then, you need to remove the side section of the rear seat on each side. There is a 14mm head nut at the bottom of the side piece, the it slides upwards off a hook at the top to release; you also need to unhook the seatbelt from the loop at the top. Then the centre piece is weird. You need to release/fold the seats forward with the tab in the boot on each side From there, there are 2,x12mm headed bolts holding the rear of each seat to the folding bracket, under the trim between the rear seat and the boot (4x christmas tree clips there, they suck). The seat is out but you can see where the bolts attach to the bracket
    • As discussed in the previous post, the bushes in the 110 needed replacing. I took this opportunity to replace the castor bushes, the front lower control arm, lower the car and get the alignment dialled in with new tyres. I took it down to Alignment Motorsports on the GC to get this work done and also get more out of the Shockworks as I felt like I wasn't getting the full use out of them.  To cut a very long story short, it ended up being the case the passenger side castor arm wouldn't accept the brand new bush as the sleeve had worn badly enough to the point you could push the new bush in by hand and completely through. Trying a pair of TRD bushes didn't fix the issue either (I had originally gone with Hardrace bushes). We needed to urgently source another castor arm, and thankfully this was sourced and the guys at the shop worked on my car until 7pm on a Saturday to get everything done. The car rides a lot nicer now with the suspension dialled in properly. Lowered the car a little as well to suit the lower profile front tyres, and just bring the car down generally. Eternally thankful for the guys down at the shop to get the car sorted, we both pulled big favours from our contacts to get it done on the Saturday.  Also plugged in the new Stedi foglights into the S15, and even from a quick test in the garage I'm keen to see how they look out on the road. I had some concerns about the length of the LED body and whether it'd fit in the foglight housing but it's fine.  I've got a small window coming up next month where I'll likely get a little paint work done on the 110 to remove the rear wing, add a boot wing and roof wing, get the side skirt fixed up and colour match the little panel on the tail lights so that I can install some badges that I've kept in storage. I'm also tempted to put in a new pair of headlights on the 110.  Until then, here's some more pictures from Easter this year.
    • I would put a fuel pressure gauge between the filter and the fuel rail, see if it's maintaining good fuel pressure at idle going up to the point when it stalls. Do you see any strange behavior in commanded fuel leading up to the point when it stalls? You might have to start going through the service manual and doing a long list of sensor tests if it's not the fuel system for whatever reason.
