Ah the old 'hot car vs financial comfort' debate. I've flirted with selling off my cars and driving a shitter/stocker and enjoying not wasting bulk money on cars, but knowing me I'd be attempting to slide the 'normal' car before too long :P

bla bla bla once again a tread has gone way off the topic

truth be known nene is the nice one and i am the bitch when it comes to this, so yeah we were so excited about this christmas party and we had spent a bit of money on it and i got council approval to have a jumpping castle and alot of our time planing a really nice day for all to have fun and get to know each other.

But really this is SA, if it doesnt involve driving your car around on a cruise or what not then no one but a few are interested and this shits me, i could seriously rattle off all the names of the regular people that would have come and enjoyed the day, but most of you have 2000 posts and have never been on 1 cruise organised by me or others and not 1 dinner or other event but you sure do have a whole lot of verbal shit to dribble.

so yeah im pissed this hasnt gone ahead, and to think we gave you all 3 months or more notice and you cant even organise yourself to come and have a $3.00 lunch and a chat

Its funny someone saying dont worry so much we have 2 months and now look CANCELLED well done all

And your simply trying to organise a gathering of people.

Imagine how it is when you organise a meet down at Mallala for a practice day with a bbq 40 people 'say' they will show and only 5 of us do.

SAU/SA is still too small for events to 'consistently' work other than a simply cruise/gocart etc.

Sometimes events will take off other times they will simply flop due to the time/date.

In response to your

thanx cubes so you will be attending then
comment... No I wasn't able to attend as I have a b'day to attend.

Regardless if I participate in a thread or not if I don't say I'm going its simple I'm not going.

I was going to come and bring a soccer ball to kick around... didnt know it was cancelled until I looked at this thread - it was entered into my calendar I would of probably rocked up and see no one there lol

Hell and your simply trying to organise a gathering of people.

more air than a hot air balloon on this site people replying to threads they dont even like just to get that plus 1 even replies of lol wasteland being used as msn i get home from work and have to wade through 3 pages of utter bull shit from people that dont even own skylines

by no means am i trying to say you must own a skyline to be here but at least contribute :)

err, at this risk of coming across as another number cruncher for posts Steve..........+1

agreed, a lot of OT nonsense in the last 6 months. mods, can you please tidy this place up? and by tidy up i mean "talk" to the dickheads who are forum trolling outside of the wasteland thread? I mean thats what its there for..

Ruby.

There's not even a need to shove a bbq in the back.

There's a few parks around that have free bbq's etc.. Might be worth considering.

BYO snags etc. I could bring a pack with a loaf of bread and some sauce. A few of us do that and it should cover the slackers that aren't organised enough to bring their own.

Mitcham Reserve, Old Blair Road and

Regano Road has a little Reserve just off Flagstaff Hill road.

Both have free gas/elec what ever they are bbq's.

I only offered my BBQ because I've always seen the public BBQs occupied for long periods of time, which can be inconvenient at times.

I like the above mentioned places ... there is also the Morialta park. A bit dry, but always less crowded. Maybe even a beach location for a swim also?

:) has to be said... but quit ur bitching and organise 1 if ur so keen on it lol... no1 really realises how much goes into organising this kinda stuff and to have a go after being a member for a week is fair steep man. its not just rock up and drive on a cruise... so much organisation goes into it...

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
