hey guys/gals, i know its up to the buyers point of view on how they feel/think about the car but honestly its the hardest decision i have to make to date.

just wondering what you guys would spend on if you had $40-$50k? the only problem i must state is that the car has to be auto/tipronic etc due to family reasons so basically woul di be better of with a gta (evo 7.5) or the new nissan skyline v35.

the gta has the evo look, goes hard around corners and has tuning potential...v35 on the other hand rear wheel drive has a decent motor but main thing that attracted me is the interior its soo god damn nice compared to the evo. help me out guys.

Well if its going to be used mainly as a family car, I would go V35, seems to have bigger room inside compared to the Evos.

the evo has a really good engine and chasis. i love the awd feel, however i dont know if im up for it like as in another turbo. atm im really thinking hard because both cars are very very different. the v35 is a lux/sport looking dump rims pure *pimped gangsta* look lol. the evo im looking at has a damd kit used in 2fast 2 furious and roughly 7k mods done to it. i have driven both cars and yes the evo has more power but im really surprised at the v35 engine as its not that bad. apparently it has more touque and power then early model 350z and a convenient 4 seater car.

i dont know really at this point but ill have to make my decision really soon before end off week.

40 - 50k

i'd wait n save up evo 10's are about 55k or sumthin i think in the paper?

or was it 60k

maybe even a second hand evo 9 would be nice:)

not a big fan of the evo7 but if it was between the 7 or the v35 i'd go the V35 :)

OKAY HANG ON MAN!!!

lol

EVO VII has two main different versions...

EVO VII and EVO VII GT-A

V35 has to main different versions...

V35 Coupe and V35 Sedan...

if you're comparing V35 Sedan to an EVO VII GT-A i would choose the V35 simply because the car would be more fuel efficient, you'll have less of a tuning bug and all you have to do is throw on some awesome rims and dump it and it's automatically pimp, the interior in those things are hot...

i don't know if you know Chino (the guy that went to Mercy) but he has a Sedan one, blue with gold rims, polished lip... done man, car looks brilliant...

downside on the GT-A is that i'm pretty sure, they have a smaller spoiler than the normal EVO VII, they don't have factory Recaro's and even the bonnet is different... all the cosmetic things about the EVO VII that are hot (in my personal opinion) the GT-A doesn't possess... so looks-wise, GT-A loses hands down...

if you're thinking about a V35 Coupe, that thing is way nicer than the GT-A and the Sedan version of the V35 anyday as the headlights are sharper and the tail-lights aren't separated and don't have so many different colours scattered all over the place...

basically what i'm trying to say is (in my understanding)

there's 4 different cars you can have;

EVO VII

V35 Coupe

EVO VII GT-A

V35 Sedan

EVO VII > ALL (but i know you want an Auto)

so it's;

V35 Coupe

EVO VII GT-A

V35 Sedan

and you're preferences in my opinion go like this;

V35 Coupe

V35 Sedan

EVO VII GT-A

hope that helps Richard

cheers,

Andrew :)

i personally have driven a gta and its not much different from manual however its a different point of viewfor those that actually havnt hence im stuck witht the fact that the gta performs much better then the v35 besides in the fuel department.

i am actually thinking about the evo x. will have to look at one tomorrow. thanks for the input guys.

forgot to mention that the v35 coupe aint just the ordinary ones...its a 350hp supercharged one...much more unique than the evo7 i reckon

Its SUPERCHARGED? :D

I personally feel the 370GT looks hawt hawt hawtttttt ;)

hmm, i will choose gta persoanlly... looks pretty good to me and read somewhere that the gta has the same accleration time as the manual. 4wd will be safer too for family use.. :D v35 is nice and cool but the space is not enough i think. then again, your call buddy! ;) try to source for a cheaper gta and revamp the interior maybe?? hahah...

un fortunately i missed out on the supercharged one steven (c reds featured car in hpi fast fours etc) some guy placed a deposit just before me. it has high kms though so im looking at one almost brand new.

yes the gta has good acceleration like i said it almost the same as manual but not a manual, stock its only 6kw less than the standard rated 206kw but then again this is the gentlemens agreement when importing.

honestly i love the v35 more becuase of its exterior/interior but the gta at fabcar is absolutely 2fast 2 furious style! will let you guys know what i have decided by tomorrow night...seems likje that evo x has come into play...

ok an update...although i made the mistake of the evo 7....just not my liking ive finally got my baby. shes a lot of fun i must admit and pure luxury sports the sound of the vq35de is fabulous.

congrats :P

did you import or buy local?

I'm looking at getting a v35 in the near future but want to wait till the exchange improves

bought local michael. im not going to go into details of price if you want to talk about it just pm hth. i wouldnt import atm with the e.x. rate but i think you know already. its a quick clean ride...more luxury sports then racing sport but 6sec for it to hit 3 digit i reckon its impressive for na. its the same as 350z but you get more touque 4seater capacity and its much rare in perth.

ive got the premium model with leather bose etc which i think is neat and looks better then standard. also a hint is that silver dominates almost 70% of v35s so try and get a different colour other then that although i have nothing against that. overall i reckon its pure sex..porn if you tell me.

    • Initially I thought having a pair of Recaro seats would be a big bonus, it turns out these do get a little uncomfortable on long journeys (my fault, not the seat). I had a look through the GSM Performance website at reclining seats and booked an appointment to visit their show room. I got the Recaro Sportster CS for the R34 from here, was very happy with the service received so of course a re-visit was in order. Unfortunately the two Corbeau seats I had chosen aren't on display but they had 4 other options available. Two seats dug into my back, one dug into my legs and the other was perfect. I also found out that Recaro seats use a larger bolt pattern so some adaption was required. Luckily GSM offer some universal adaptors that should solve this problem. I searched the interwebs for price comparisons and Corbeau themselves were the cheapest at £300 cheaper (for the pair). I asked GSM if they could price match, unfortunately they couldn't. I later received an email saying Corbeau would honour them the same discount, but the purchase was already made. I did however order the brackets from GSM, both arrived on the same day. I started with the passenger side seat, knowing this was going to be a little trial and error. There are 3 mounting holes at the front and 2 at the rear on these JURAN Racing seat rails.  With the adaptor brackets mounted, the allen cap bolts started to push into the seat, NOT GOOD!  The rear mounting holes lined up but there were issues at the front. The holes were 1/2 hole out, so the brackets got a tickle with the drill to modify the holes. The supplied bolts weren't going to be long enough and a spacer was needed to stop the adaptor bars from bending. A local fasteners company supplied be with some nylon spacers and longer bolts (M8x30, although these will be replaced with 35mm long shortly) A before and after I pre-drilled the front bracket before making a start on the driver's seat to save some time. And in no time at all that was in the car too. The all black seats have transformed the interior and these are MUCH more comfortable. The only downside with the new Corbeau seats is I sit a little higher, but I'll happily accept that over discomfort. The Youtube video can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPyttKPktXA
    • All 3 I guess. The car came with the JASI Aero 4 door Type R Full Kit unpainted so this was one thing at the top of my list to complete then I noticed there were body panels parts for this kit so i picked them up along with some black mesh to fill in the front bumper and front side air vents. car is at a paint and body shop atm completing this work. Next I will be addressing the internal bells and whistles, great summer project I can do with the kids.  full interior removal - ,boys car sound deadening - pads and spray ,boys stereo, sound, lighting - Big 3, GTT or bigger alternator ,kids head lining - dye black add star lighting mod ,daughter. That's it for the next 5-6 months. I have some motor maintenance  work i have to plan out. oil filter relocation, gaskets, mounts. beyond that, mind is starting to turn over if i can use a DET intake plenum, block off turbo ports & pipe in a air intake.
    • roller coaster of a ride. Alarm system was removed & main harness was repaired where possible. still no fix just random successful starts. moved on to the replacing the ignition switch and relay. well all this troubleshooting & repair has been going on, the car is at a paint and body shop being pushed around. Ive been going down there on odd days after work to get it sorted.
