Importing Goods From Overseas.

Hi people of Perth,

I am trying to get some information to import a big quantity(10-20 pieces)(prices of product is unknown at this stage) of new aftermarket parts from overseas.

Just keen to know what are the procedures before going on with this project.

Anyone has ever been through the importing process before?

What are the rules, regulation, taxes, permits etc etc. Just need to understand more about the Western Australian law on importing products from overseas.

It's not so much WA law you have to worry about, it's Customs (federal) and their import duties/taxes. Is this for business or personal reasons?

Me and a mate of mine are actually trying to get some for ourselves first.

Try it on our car and see if it is as good as what people has been raving about.

Right now, I am wondering what needs to be done at the Custom and also the taxes that will sting me.

With the amount of quantity that i am planning to bring in, most probally fill it up as business import.

(or can i just put it under personal use?) less tax? lol

theres this big f**k off book @ customs

depends what category your "goods" fall under

tax will variey then add 10% ontop for GST

or you can use a broker

Yer best thing for you to do is go to a Frieght Fowarding company and get them to bring it in for you i use to work at one so i can help you get a cheap price

i have got a container which will be coming into Perth mid January next year.

There will be some other stuff inside but i have not deal with parts for vehicles before.
