Not holding boost

Hey peoples, i have a 93 r33 gtst and it doesnt appear to hold boost. Now i am not sure if this is normal as its a standard turbo and would lose efficiency after a certain revs i beleive!! But anyhow it peaks to 12 then goes back slowly to around 9. Now the only mods i have are cat back 3 inch, adjustable boost controller and a pod. Anyone know how to fix the problem or is it even a problem?? Is this normal for standard turbo n intercooler. Or does it seem as though there is a leak

If you have a bleed valve controlling the boost then thats the first thing i would think is causeing the prob..

bleed valve a seperate thing to the boost controler??

bleed valve is a boost controller..

greddy boost controller - u say you have a boost controller.. is it electronic or just a knob or flick switch?

Could be a weak wastegate spring. Try replacing the actuator with a stronger unit, or adding some bed springs

This is common with all cars...Standard Turbo's always drop boost levels..To me there is no problem but Buying a HKS Actuator for the turbo will hold the boost alot better...Standard items are always Never good enough...

Also Bleed valves tend to Guarrantee Boost Drop as it only a Tappet adjustment insteed it beeing controlled Electronically...

But...

Dont worry about the Boost drop..

My brothers GTO peaks at 12psi and drops to 7psi Standard with no mods..

i have had this problem .Drive at 60-70 hold the foot on accelerator flat and foot on brake too as to spool the turbo up and see what it does on the boost guage.If it fluctuates from 12 then down to 9 then up to 12 then down etc etc then i would be confident in saying there is a leak in the hose connected to your boost guage.

oh well, it still is not too bad performance wise, i would like some more mumbo as i think most of us do but i have a major clutch slippage problem at the moment so its ok for now, saving money on fuel because i am nursing it. I got 430k's outta my last tank and the fuel light hadnt come on yet. Didnt want to run it down that far but yeah i am actually getting a reward outta my clutch bein hanky.
