2 dailys atm.

first is a 96 magna wagaon on gas. im sure most u guys seen it. basically dead stock, never gets a wash, can fit anything in it. people kick it, crash it, chicks vommit in it. its a daily so its cool. $35 a full tank and only need to fill up once every 10 days. yeah :P

other is a laser my bro uses, but i will use it if i cant be stuffed with the magna. basically what isnt wrong with it. gear box is screwed, blows smoke, cracked windscreen, lights missing and falling out, locks broken, dents everywhere. but for $20 a week in fuel and only cost $600, it does the job. basically when cops defect ill just hand them the keys and say well done, u finally defecting defectable cars, its urs now. and will write SAPOL on the rego forms lol.

only been using a daily this year to get my car finished. saved huge amounts of money by driving a shit box around. but getting sick of it. u spend all the money doing up ur car and u never use it.

used to use public transport last year when i got defected. what a waste of time i will never get back. seriously its better for me to own 2 cars and drive one to work than get public transport. the time i waste waiting around, i could have doubled the money i save not using a car by getting to work on time.

Just curious what's everyone using as their daily driver?

This way we might be able to spot SAUers on the way to work.

Mine used to be this. I know it's a commy, but it's not bad.

This was before i got to it with new fuel pumps, cleaned up heaps of wiring, thermo fan, new heater hoses etc. which im sure alot more will be done.

Goes suprisingly well and is really good on fuel.

what a ripper!!! I've never come across a turbo 4k before, very cool dude.

i'm jealous! lol

i seized the 4k in my old rolla.

my own fault... bush bashing on my mates farm up in golden grove and I cracked the sump. And kept bush bashing for a good 45 mins after... :)

Thanks mate

Plus its very practical aswell, chuck all my tools, parts etc in the back.

Keeps the Km's off the 33 and can have fun in another car in the mean time.

Ryan's daily is his '99 Stag.. even though there's a crappy '96 lancer sittin out the back that it supposed to be the daily... lol

My daily is a black '07 Aurion ZR6... it's a breeze to drive and can keep up with a 33 gtst and the stag quite easily.. hehehe. I just need it to drive out to uni a couple times a week. petrol costs me nothing...it's dad's car :)

    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
    • Neg, the top one is actually for the front. The sizes are 18x10.5 +18 and 18x11 +32.   I measured many times but I'm sure I'll have problems as this is the thread for problems.
    • Just one thing; tapping tapered threads is tricky. Taps are always tapered and you would generally run it as far as you can, but with a tapered thread you have to stop much sooner otherwise the wide part of the taper will run in too far and you will have to thread the sensor in too far too as well (possible that it will never make a good seal) BTW nice wide wheels, I guess the top one is for the back!
    • Welp, good to know. Will have to wait awhile until steady hands with drills and taps are available. In other news, these just arrived! I will weigh them for posterity. Edit: 11kg each (or 10.9/11.1 depending on what my scale decides over multiple tests, the 18x11 don't seem to weigh noticeably any more than 10.5)
