Seen a couple of threads but aren't really too specific and questions weren't answered.

Just got my r33 gts4 rb25de.

Need part numbers for:

Spark plugs-

Leads-

Oil filter-

Air filter (standard panel)-

Shocks (all 4)-

Also, what oil are you using?

This vehicle is a non-turbo..

I work for toyota, but surely there is somebody in here who works for nissan?

If anybody does have the rb25de, what are you doing for your regular services, anything I should be changing sooner than later? (ie parts notorious for a short/limited life span).

Please do not spam the thread.

xox,

Steph

hey steph, i have one and i have a set of spark plugs, oil filer, air filter (pod though) at my uncles sitting there in boxes with part numbers:down:. ill call him tomorrow and get all the part numbers off him as i dont know them off by heart. What are the leads for?????

P.S. are brands an important roll for you as i use

Spark plugs- (Platinum NGK's)

Leads- ????

Oil filter- (genuine nissan) no need for expensive ones with magnets in them and what not. get a magnetic sump plug and its a lot cheaper and does same thing =\

Air filter (standard panel)- (genuine nissan? ryco? or KnN?) Ryco is better than genuine nissan because its EXACTLY the same but cheaper.

Shocks (all 4)- ????? =\ geez there are part numbers thrown everywhere for shocks. Go on supliers web sites and contact them with your model for shocks because gts-4's are always getting people going wrong numbers here and im not sure whether the r33 standard front and r32 GTR rear Shock rule is right because sounds wrong to me. Best leave that to inquiries.

few threads with what people use here, its up to you. I find the best two would be

royal purple (cheaper alturnative but very good)

red line (expensive but amazing)

Correct me if im wrong:

Arnt the bottom mounts of the GTS4 springs diffrent to the GTST? But same as GTR?

I know this is the case for R32's.

Skylines are pretty much the same with other cars with the big 100,000km service where water pump and a couple of seals should also be done. Have a search, massive thread on this.

Thanks guys.

Central Coast Person- I'm undecided as to which brand of what I will be getting, depending on others experiences here I guess.

GTS4WD- Any other info on the shocks? Which ones and where from?

Shocks definately need replacing as I own horses and the car is taken out into a paddock and rough road daily so she needs good shocks.

Car isn't anywhere ready for the 100,000km service as yet, only has 70,000.... I suspected a wind-back until I saw all the paperwork and service history.

Any other info would be great.

Had a look but I only have the R34 and R32 workshop manuals. Dont have the 33 one.

Google it. It will have the diffrence in there. I beleive the rear mount is different. I know in terms of R32 the GTST has a round mount while th GTS4 and GTR have a fork mount.

I guess you found your answer

Hey steph,

oil filter is a z145a or ROF-96..depending on brand... but either of those two are fine.

I have an NGK spark plug in front of me... it says on it : BCP7E S

Cant remember what I used for oil before I turboed the car, soz.

Also... I actually have a proper Nissan skyline 33 gts, gtst, gtr engine manuel if you need... but its a big download.... a 127mb pdf....

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
