I have an RB25DET and full engine loom for sale in a few weeks and i was wondering if anyone was interested in it. Its only done 15,000km since it was rebuilt and i have receipts for $6005 on rebuild. I used the original pistons as they were still good. All machine work was carried out by Merv Gray Auto Parts and Machine Shop in Launceston Tasmainia. Ill take a photo of the receipt so you can see what they did. The Engine was assembled by Stuart Willcock, a good mate of mine who has done many engine rebuilds and engine conversions. The reason im selling this engine is i need money and i dont need the engine anymore as its been sitting in my shed for a bit longer than a year on the stand after having it in a standard vl and i pulled it out because it destroyed the standard gearbox and diff so rather than spend another 5 or 6 thousands on it i bought a stagea. The engine has 4 dyno sheets with it starting at 7psi 153.6rwkw when being run in through to 12psi 194.8rwkw this was made with Haltech E6X, Haltech boost controller and full 3inch custom exhaust. Also after i pulled it out of my vl i pulled the head off and the cams out because i didnt know what i was going to do with it because its bad for the valve springs compressed when you leave an engine round for long periods of time. When i had the head off i took the time to take photos of the bores to show that it still has prominent hone marks to show anybody that is interseted that it is a fresh engine. Also seeing as though i had the head sitting round for so long off the engine i decided to take it in to my local machine shop and have it checked. They pulled it apart and checked it and replaced the valve stem seals. I also have receipts for that as well. Ive been assembling the engine over the last week and its nearly all together. Theres still a few things that ive got to do that might take a couple of weeks as im working out of town next week and cant get the parts. These things are as follows. need to remove snapped dump pipe stud, need 2 oil feed line gaskets. one from turbo and one from block to head and need oil breather transfer hose from cam cover to cam cover. I want to make sure everything is good and fixed before i sell it. Also the engine comes with starter motor and alternator. There wont be a thing to be spent on this engine as it has all been done. Your welcome to do any test u like on it. Im looking for around $4000. Anybody interested

Heres some photos. Any questions feel free to ask. I think ive answered all of them though

    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools. • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
