The New Xbox Experience also lets you install games to the hard drive, so that advantage is taken away.

Many PS3 fanboys constantly use the "potential" argument. The fact is, the console has been out for over two years (not including pre-development time) and it continually fails to live up to it's "potential". There is nothing that can be done game wise on the PS3 that can't be done on the 360 too.

I realise I am coming across as a massive 360 fanboy, but the fact is, my previous two consoles were the N64, PS2, so I profess no brand loyalty. I simply pick the best games machine having weighed up the factors, and to me it's pretty clear that the 360 is the pick of the two majors this generation.

if you look closely at all these comments there either

A realisitic point of view of people who own both sytems. They seem to agree with each other and are not derogatory of the other console.

Then there is xbox sux with no valid points , just plain ignorance.

Its a conversation that will have no end and at the end of the day will serve no purpose.

well duh... the title alone says "fanboy callout"

I have no brand loyalty... in fact i was a PS fanboy and nintendo fanboy and vowed to never ever own a XBOX... however after weighing it up i chose to get a 360... well the fact it was free helped but even then.

its basically a repeat fo PS2 vs XBOX

the only difference is that the roles have been reversed and MS got their console out a good year before sony and sony are now struggling to claw back because despite having on paper the best console its just come into the game too late the same as MS did with the XBOX when the PS2 was already fundamentally established regardless of the "inferior" tech.

+1

I totally agree.

Im going to buy a 360 to replace my old xbox, after i play the new doom and halo 3 it will go into the linen closet where the old xbox is after i finished doom and halo 2.

Does anyone know when is the new doom( not sure if its called doom but the games about being trapped on space ship with deamon zombies or something) is coming out, and will the 360 play it or are they going to upgrade the 360 again.

I only like these two games, doom because i remember playing the origional doom years ago and have been hooked ever since and halo because, well just because. : )

PS3 FTW!!! Why pay for online play when it is free on PS3! BluRay, Bluetooth, easy to "upgrade" HDD to 300GB, Gran Turismo, Killzone 2 enough said.

EDIT TO ADD - XBox can be bought cheaper though, and does have some good games. I had a Wii but took it back as the OH never played it. Have never owned an Xbox of any kind not because I think they are rubbish, simply because I like the PS more. I also would buy a PS just for Gran Turismo alone. The amount of hours I have played 1, 2, 3 and 4 is beyond me, have not played 5 prologue much though, still play 4 HD on PS3 because it has the R32 GTR

Is there gunna be any new console release any time soon?

Because i would hate to buy a xbox 360 or PS3 and a new one comes out a sort time after.

Not that i heard of. Where are you thinking of purchasing the console?

So far i think JB prices are the best.

One query though, are warranties on the PS 3 any good at all? Is it worth to get the warranty?

Worth it... my sisters one died in the arse after a month and they sent a courier to pick it up and drop off a new one at the same time.... by new i mean refurbished.

She ended up hardly using it anymore now, instead you know what she got?

My old PS2 with a bunch of HDDs i had with heaps of games on it... why... cause sing star on the PS3 was shite apparently lol

Another flame war,

I own all 3 consoles, can say:

Wii is crappy graphics, aimed more at family types, not good, would skip it, plus the Wii Fit told me I'm overweight :) now i've lost 10kg, i'll go back and challenge it

Xbox360 I play the most because it has the best at the moment racing games, although once GT5 comes out, it should be better, as long as it has damage mode for once

You'll only notice blu-ray dvds on the PS3 if you have a 42"+ TV and you are sitting at least 6ft away, for me I'm sitting 4ft away from my 1080P 32" and don't notice any major difference from the upscaled dvds, maybe a bit of motion blurring is the only thing.

Graphics wise, both are so similar, the Xbox has the better graphics chip, but the PS3 has more cores on it's CPU, meaning that games can be written to add more textures on the PS3, it's just developers find it so hard to program for.

Streaming videos/DivX both play them off PCs, Xbox uses Windows Media Center or Tiversity, PS3 uses Tiversity, both run fine, no slow downs at all.

In terms of price, Xbox is getting really cheap, I picked mine up with 3 games for $399, PS3 is still $750(NZ prices) if it was a budget thing and you wanted to play games now and not wait till May-JUne for GT5 next year, get the 360 + Forza 2, then next year get the PS3 with GT5 bundle or go for Forza 3 which shoudl be out at the same time.

Forza isn't actually bad at all, infact i can say I enjoy it more than GT3-ASpec, GT4, GT5 Prologue, but it's not quite as good as GT1 or GT2

    • Just wanted to unearth this and post my baby with the new front ❤️😝 Took her to my wedding rehearsal today. Next up is getting wide skirts (after wedding)
    • Yea, that is what I was getting at in my ramblings too. The nismo one actually is a 1.5 way and a 1 way. They don't do a *2* way because a true *2* way would have equal ramp angles. Or is that a true 1.5 way? Realistically I think a "1.5 way" does not actually exist. A diff can either lock in two directions or one. It also doesn't help that a LOT of people in Australia speak about 1.5 way diffs are referring to their 1 way diff.
    • Well, the trouble with that ^^ is: The configuration shown is absolutely a 1-way, not a 1.5-way. There is no way that a 1.5-way can be said to offer LSD action only on acceleration. If Nismo cannot get that right, then it is impossible to believe their documentation. That ^ is not a 1.5 way setup. That is a 1-way.   And so now I have allowed all doubts to flourish and have gone back to look at the MotoIQ video. I originally made the mistake of believing him when he said "this is a 1.5-way" at the ~6:10 mark. Because what he did was take the gear assembly out of the 2-way opening and just rotate it one place to the left to drop it into the 1-way opening. When he dropped it in there, the cam was "backwards" compared to the correct orientation shown in all other photos of that config. The flat shold have been facing the 1° ramp side of the opening, not the 55° ramp side. And I thought, "gee that's cute", but I was concerned at the time, when he put the other ring back on, that the gap between the rings looked like it was wider then in the 2-way config. And then I said a lot of things in my long post on Tuesday that could only make sense if the guy from MotoIQ was correct about what he'd done. BUT... I have now done my homework. I grabbed a frame of the video with the 2-way config, and then grabbed another with the "1.5-way" config, snipped out the cam and opening of that frame and just pasted it direct on top of the 2-way config. I scaled it so that the triangular opening was almost exactly the same height in both. AND.... the gap between the plates is wider with the cam installed in the triangualr opening backwards. That is.... it cannot go together that way. There would be massive force on the plates all the time, if you could even reassemble it.  So, My statement on the matter? The Nismo diff is actually only a 2-way and 1-way. There is no 1.5-way option in it, regardless of what they say. Here's a photo of a real 1.5-way ramp opening from Cusco (along with the 1 way option). And the full set of 1 through 2 way options from their racing diff, which is not same-same as what we'd typically be using, but...the cams work the same. A little blurry, but it comes from this Cusco doc, which is quite helpful. AND.... Cusco do in fact do what I suggested would be sensible, which is to have rings that do 1 and 1.5, and 1.5 and 2. Separately.
    • Welcome Adam. Car looks great!
