TiTAN
By default the vipec turns the check engine light on if the engine temp gets above 102c, the map sensor reading goes above 240kpa and on mine if the knock sensor input voltage goes above 1.0v Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/249281-guilt-toy-installs-vipec-v44-plug-in-base-tuned/page/4/#findComment-4330152 Share on other sites

TiTAN
It is under Auxiliary Outputs > Aux 7 - GP Output. Set the switch logic to "Cond 1 OR 2 OR 3" You can then change it so you have 3 conditions of your choice that will trigger the check engine light. Guilt-Toy
I found a VDO Marine oil pressure sender will do the job just fine, 0-4v output.. Will set a gp on the Vipec to switch the engine off if its reving over 1200rpm with less then 2bar pressure.. or something like that... the part number is 360081032014c and there is a VDO seller in WA who will do one for under $100 delivered. anomaly
gday guilt toy, few questions about your little computer setup you have (if the chicks digg a hand controller they would be touching themselves over your setup). nah seriously i have the v44 plugin in my 33 and would like to moniter stuff + have it for itunes + videos. hat input does the screen have? Im by the quality its not AUX input How much rougly for the screen? Do you have a laptop or have you built yourself a little computer and just chucked it somewhere? If you have build a little computer (should be able to do so for $200-$300), what are you doing for the power supply (the only tricky part)? The screen is a Thermaltake 7" touch screen, they are pretty expensive and are made for servers, i run a 12v ATX power supply to run power to it. I also can get some 800mhz tiny pc units with 256mb ram (My unit will be here today, have been using my laptop in the mean time) and will be powering it off the 5v rail on the atx power supply as well as the USB hub, it takes a 2.5" hdd and will be able to run XP without any issues. Well get more pictures of my setup once its completed. I can do you one of these little mini car PC's for about $200 delivered to your door, the screen costs about $500 retail, i got one cheap $399. The screen has VGA input, also has RCA inputs but mine are not working have to send back for RMA next year. I could also power the PC from the 5v rail out of the Vipec but the 5v shouldnt have too much current drawn because it supplys power to the sensors (map sensor etc etc) So yeah let me know if you want one of these units.. Nice! I was also wondering about your pc setup Personally I'm running a carpc (1.2ghz cpu, 1gb ram, 120gb hdd etc etc) in a voomII enclosure and a 7" touchscreen (no branding but same specs as the top lilliput), having ecu water temp readout on the screen all the time is wonderful Edited December 22, 2008 by bubba Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/249281-guilt-toy-installs-vipec-v44-plug-in-base-tuned/page/4/#findComment-4330713 Share on other sites

bubba
Just under 1k for everything but I got 2x setups (enclosure, motherboard, psu, drive adatper) from the US to save on shipping. Might be a little more now that our dollar sucks ass but general run down: VoomPC-2 Barebones kit - US$230 + shipping 1Gb DDR2 RAM - AU$25 160Gb (yes my bad, it's actually 160Gb) 2.5" HDD - AU$65 Slim DVD drive/burner - AU$69 7" manual single din in dash touchscreen - AU$569 (seems to have gone up by $100 since I got mine) So yeah, the screen was pretty much half the cost but I wanted something quality with VGA input, in-dash and non-motorised If you're not so picky on screens there are alternatives, i.e. if you wanted to mould into the dash I'd go for a 10.4" Samsung panel Edit: the big winner the is M2-ATX power supply that comes with the kit, it's rather intelligent and has a lockout feature so it won't just cut power to the pc when you turn the ignition off, it keeps running for a certain amount of time (that you can set) and shuts down the pc properly. It also handles the voltage drop when cranking so the pc won't reset! bubba
At the time, yes I had borrowed a mates 3G broadband dongle to test it out how it went while moving, 3.6Mbit connection with no loss of signal strength while driving around! Will get myself one eventually along with a USB GPS receiver but they're far from the top of the priority list.. bigger turbo comes first lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/249281-guilt-toy-installs-vipec-v44-plug-in-base-tuned/page/4/#findComment-4330941 Share on other sites

TiTAN
We had one of our suppliers marketing people come by once with a toughbook. He dropped it on the floor then stood on it as a demonstration of how tough it was. thing still worked perfectly. I had my old CF-18 sitting open on the passenger side of the bonnet of my work truck....i noticed it as i was driving along. what was my first reaction? yes i hit the brakes! it flew off and cartwheeled up the road. it gave me a couple of years service without a hitch after this 'incident' until it was traded for my new one.
