Can we get Digital Scanners in Australia cos the Americans can get em peice of piss and secondly where can i pick up a radar detector?

Are the ditigal scanners like the ones in mischef 3000 where they had the gumball cruise and at the electronics were going spastic when in the radius of cops.

Yes it is possilbe to get a digital scanner, and yes it is possible to log onto the police frequency for traffic and so forth. if you transmit on the frequency and are caught your in some trouble though, but its not illegal to listen in to it as its free to air.

my mates dad got pulled over in his merc. 1000 dollar fine and the radar detector confiscated.

for real? damn. How much do these devices go for and also where can these be purchased, if possible.

You can get them in WA. which is the only state not to make them illegal.

The consquences of beeing caught are the fine and confiscation of the detector, but if you know your rights they can only do so much when looking for the detector. There is a web sight out there that covers all of this and more if you google it.

Um i hear that its not a "RADAR" detector you need now its a "LASER" detector.....

But i hear the cops can detect the old crappy models of radar detectors.......

you'd probably be best off askin somewhere like tandy or dick smith electronics...

yep picks up all radar (cameras) laser and undercover police vehicles.

they are made by whistler sorry guys wont say too much more as the cops scann these forums and pm me if ur interested.
