Rb30/25 Vvt Question

I've been looking around for a while and I couldnt find a clear answer and thought maybe someone would be able to clear this up for me. I'm putting a series 2 rb25det head on my rb30 block, and I dont want to run vvt. When I block the gallery on the head do I still need to supply oil to the vvt? even if I'm not gong to be using it? Or can I block the gallery, not supply oil to the vvt, and be okay?

Thanks,

Jason D.

Thanks for the clarification!

the vvt unit need oil supply to it or it will move back and forth as it pleases, you can adjust the screws at the rear of the gear rotate the gear in the direction of rotation and lock them up the vvt cannot move forward then. weld the oil up as well. we have found the vvt to be a good tuning tool when tuning for bottom and mid range. you can run the oil feed line to it externally.
