I don't blame the servo ATM at all... cos really we shouldn't have to come out of the Nats to try and use it in the first place, they should have adequate facilities inside :) Can't believe they only had one atm in the whole place!

It isnt ours, NAB own it and maintain it. If it was our we would have had it stocked everyday just like the mountain of ice we have out the front which we didnt even sell half of... ><

You will probably find that like most epic events that the atm is a Bank of QLD atm. Thing is Bank of QLD is adminstrated by National bank now so they knew they had a NAB atm nearby so didnt put a 2nd one in epic...stupid banks.

I was thinking that the nat organisers set up a place that u can buy nat dollars that can be spend in the nats, so rather then going to a atm u go there and use your eftpos card and buy natcash ><

Just heard from some guy at my work that the new venue for summernats might be eastern creek!! From what I know the lease hasnt been renewed for epic yet, so it is looking by all the rumours going around that this years nats might have been the last.

chic henry has already announced dates and said he has signed on for the next three years...or so ive been told by my mate whos a summernats fanatic.

Three years in Sydney or in Canberra still...all i know is that 5 mil is hard to say no to.

I didn't know whether to put this into a new topic or put it into here, so i decided to put it here as its about GIVING SKYLINES A BAD NAME!!!

Today my girlfriend was riding on her scooter in Gungahlin down Gundaroo Drive (from Servo to roundabouts near Palmerston). Much to her delight, most of her trip she was being tailgated by a white r34 which appeared to have a aluminium wing on the back. Not only was he just being the usual prick who tailgates bumper to bumper, but he was also honking his horn, even though she was doing the speed limit. When Gundaroo drive went into two lanes (near Gungahlin Lakes intersection) did he go into the other lane?? NO he kept following her tailgating and honking his horn, even though he had a good 500m to overtake her with little traffic around.

The best thing is she was heading to another friends house and it so happened this driver lived only down the road to where she was heading (Candlebark cresent). If this person is on this forum (which I doubt) PULL YOUR HEAD IN!! Did they ever think what if she, being distressed by the idiot on her tailgate honking his horn, dropped her scooter?? They would have gone right over her... I know where this guy lives and although I own a skyline I have no issues with having a go at someone who also owns a skyline IF THEY ARE ACTING LIKE A DEGENERATE!! My girlfriends father works in a position where he a very regular contact with the federal police...which is also mainly the road and traffic division. She has told him about what happened and if this person does it again he will be reported. She doesnt care if she sees a skyline hooning past her at 200kmph, but when they go out of their way to endanger her life she isnt impressed.

If you can't stop acting like you think you are better then everyone else, sell your car and buy a bus pass because the world dont want ya!

Sounds bad and I in no way condone the actions of the driver. Sounds like a real chump.

and

The other thing the world could do with out IMHO is pushbikes on the road and Mopeds (Scooters). Frustration PLUS (insert really angry emoticon here!)

If you can travel the speed of the traffic, obey the road rules then fine. If you cant then get off the bitchman or be prepared to argue with in excess of 1400kgs of metal traveling at legal speed.

There is physics about action/reaction and force being equal and opposite. Force of impact will be lethal.

I was approaching an intersection and a garbage truck did the wrong thing this day and flew straight through. I let go a barage verbal anger. My passenger turned to me and said yes you had right of way but the laws of nature still apply even though the road rules are on your side. Prepared to loose your Skyline and your life?

Yeah sometimes I think the cyclists on the road try to ride as close to the edge of the bike lanes on purpose. I personally give them every convience if they are in the bike lane, but if they are on the road, I expect them to tend right on the left hand side so car can easily pull them over. I've also heard how if there is a large group of cyclists on the road they either have to ride is a single collumn or inform the proper authorities. BUT!!! I must cut the line when it comes to the flying sardeen cans....EXCELS!!!! They probably weight about...500kg, being most of their tax written off bits are just that...but every one i see seems to have something to prove. Tailgating, overtaking in roundabouts, overtaking at unbroken lines, speeding, thrashing, and even overtaking me at a roundabout while it was raining at such a speed their back came into my lane.

Wait..didnt someone on this forum make vinyl sticker?? Maybe a crossed out excel for my rear window

Back to news about summernats. Apparently the deal with Chic and whoever is paying him to move to Sydney has fallen though. Something about wanting $12million rather then $5 million, but taken into account that he would have to draw up the contract, then find people to do all the stores, security and bits and pieces around the nats, then having to go though the licencing and permits, insurance, OH&S, etc etc etc compared to all that already being in place in Canberra.

  • 1 month later...
I know of at least one idiot in a black R33 Gtst with a big "drift" style body kit who hoons around the Calwell / Theodore area making a bad name for us by driving like a complete moron... I wouldnt be surprised if he was involved.

The problem is that Summernats brings out the worst in so called "car enthusiasts" and the pack mentality takes over... I personally wouldnt be upset if the Summernats was relocated to Sydney or Melbourne.

that could be my old baby.. ;)

If anyone drives down that road which connects onto limestone ave (from dickson college) I think its Majura ave or something...anyway you would usually see a R33 with pink playboy sticker on the rear....They should get their eyes checked as they almost wiped out my girlfriends Mum by cutting her off. Also should learn that the middle finger does NOT mean "My bad, im sorry."

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
