My friend had some sort of overnight meltdown (probably an electrical fault) in his R31 Skyline last night and his injectors (amongst other things) are cooked. The car has an aftermarket CT12 turbo and Supra intercooler fitted to a rebuilt, bored and ported RB30 engine.

Anyone know if the RB30ET injectors fit straight in? I recall reading somewhere that they are 2 stage injectors (blah blah) and need a ECU change to run properly. Any other injectors that can be used with the same impudance? Any other hints / info / ideas?

Thanks!!

Yeah it's been running lean because the std injectors were too small. ATM he's only running 5lbs of boost due to the fuel restrictions but he's been looking around for different injectors.

He's got an Inject computer to put onto it to remap the ECU but I don't know if they'll need something special? Any other injectors fit the RB30? Something with a high value / $ ratio?

Thanks for the info. I ended up rining Capa (www.capa.com.au) and they were really helpful. Apparently RB30 injector are "hose and tail" injectors as opposed to the more normal o-ring type (doesn't mean much to me!!) but they sell universal railing etc that you can adapt and use the o-ring injectors. Need to make the manifold a little bigger but hopefully it won't be too hard!! :-)
