Well that was a fun day, even though it wasn't the actual day that we were originally aiming for I didn't mind the 5 lap sessions. The way my oil temp was rising I wouldn't have been able to do much more that that anyway.

Although I only went out there for some track time, after the second session I was leading the Modern Reg' part of the day so I decided to actually try any have a crack at getting a good modern reg' place. The next session I tripled my points for the day though and took myself down to third place then after a reasonable 4th session ended up with a second place for the day.

Started off doing 1:26/27's and by the end of the day was averaging 1:25's with a best of 1:24.73, not bad considering it was my first time to Mallala and was on street tyres.

Here's the days results;

hey Dale, you messed up that last session, its session 3 again.

Well done on the second place :D I wouldn't mind going to one of these again and giving it a decent go at getting consistent times.

Ok last few pics where a little large!

that red clubman is everyones favourite salesman from redline  but to his credit that machine was pretty awesome, shoulda heard the

sound the engine made (hiabusa) nearly wet myself!

ah cool old school user low post count = when he says something it counts

So true steve, If it wasnt for "Who" id have no interest in turbo nissans. Still remember when I was 15 and I was scared shitless by his converted turbo pulsar.

I was going to come participate Sunday, but didn't have any mountings for a fire extinguisher, the people who did go how and wwhere did you have your fire extuighsers mounted/secured?

Mine is mounted behind the passenger seat, where the back seat would be. It should be in a spot that is easy to reach.

Looks like I wasn't out at this day - but trust me I was there! It was a good chance to shakedown the GTR for the impending Porsche Super Sprint day I've entered this weekend. Probably a good thing I did too - blew a brake line on the pit straight just like the winfield gtr did on its debut!! Was a little difficult to pick the pace to ensure a >1:20 lap - and I failed at least once (black flagged!) but once I got into it it was great fun. Just braking early and no boost plus slowing on the start finish straight until over the line did it. Recommend these days to anyone and anycar - the dial your own lap time means laptimes don't matter, consistency is what counts.

Can't wait for Sunday now - fixing the brake problem at the moment, and a little oil cooler setup mod to help with the temp control and I'll be out. Oh - and you can do parade (passenger) laps at the porsche days.........shall we start the bidding???? :(

Hey Andrew, If your gonna take a passenger i would suggest lining the passenger seat in plastic for the seats protection :P

i cant wait for the next one now. Hopfully get some new tyres and pads and should be set. woo

i recommend qfm a1rm pads... they're really good all round, cold or hot you wont feel the diff, very consistent pedal feel and they seem to last a long ass time too.

GSL rallysport is doing a half price rears deal which means front and rears for $191... delivered. I cant say personally how they are compared to top brand items but ive heard that they're just as good.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
