I'm trying to organise a group buy for window tinting.

Whos interested?

Does anyone know any good tinters around the place? Must be top quality stuff. I know of one already: normal cost is 360, but can be much less if we get lots of cars.

Thanks

People who are definites: 5 so far

These are the places that do the tinting, well the ones that i've asked so far:

Scorpion - 295, best tint he's got metal based, not dye colour based.. called endurance. guaranteed against everything including fading and optical clarity with absolute life.

extra 60 bucks to remove old tint.

Others please get hard prices!!! so then i can post it up so then if people wish to go somewhere else then we can organise it for them too!!

Oh yeah one last thing, please no timewasters or pretenders, we dont' want to have to ask a business to do a group buy of 15 poeple and have only 2 show up. its not fair on the guy so please only say u are definite if u are in fact definite.

Thanks

I'd be keen for sure, but I'd also need the shitty tint removed from my rear window first

I only need the two front windows and the rear window done, those two smaller ones at the back already appear to be tinted

We get a guy in to my work (complete audio) that does window tinting, he does a good job and will do whatever shade you want.

cut the springs in the barina dude.

quality lowering job.

U can get angle grinders for like $70 nowerdays can't ya? I'll help.

Put the window tinting money towards stickers and other performance enhancing bits and pieces. Maybe a wing on the bonnet? :)

Hippy hook me up with details.

Tint-a-car in Elizabeth do $250 for formula one for us RAAFIES. Give them a call

i pay $280 for my car at tint-a-car cloverlly park south road.

we are going to do group buy, i saw a thead in VIC section did the same thing & tint-a-car do $199 for VIC SAU member.

ok the best place so far is this one place called scorpion i think, just north of the city not too far out.

the one that tint a car does is what scorpion considers their mid range section, which scorpion will do for 240 or so before group discounts ... and yes tint a car will offer life time guarantee against bubbling and pealing ... however not visual clarity... so it will fade and change but not peal and bubble. so eg if someone breaks a window it will be hard to match the same colour tint if u've had it on for long enough. The other film which is the best one they have has a life time gurantee against fading, peeling, bubbling, optical clarity and EVERYTHING else.. it will

never fade so if someone smashes your window after 10 years and you go back and put the same film on you won't notice the difference between the new one and all your other windows.

you can add reflection percentage so when someone walk past it, its like the bathroom mirror...you can apply makeup using my tinting according to my female friend who rang them up.

any comments?

im interested in getting my car tinted as well so put me on the list please. In regards to not being able to havethe front side windows tinted, i hope your joking as this would defeat the purpose of getting your car tinted. imho anyways.

Sorry to say Hippy, but the previous owner of my car had to remove the tinitng fron the drivers and passenders door to pass regency. Someone better find out b4 u spend the couple of hunderd to get em done. - Not being a downer just wanna know for sure myself. (Btw he passed with the back and 1/4 windows still tinted)

When my previous car had to go thru Regency (it came from NSW), the front window tint had to be removed - the back window and rear quarter windows were ok.

I was told they would not let the front tinted windows through because they didn't have the Australian Standards stickers specifying what % the tint was... the back windows didn't have the stickers either but they weren't fussed.

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
