well no power loss or brownouts for me.

but on top of the heat my car got blasted by a couple of kilos of sand last night. parked at a mates house for a few hours , came out to a brwon/red car covered in dirt/sand.photos coming soon.. looks really bad ... hope the inside vents and drains didnt clog with dirt too..lol

and i was parked for only a few hours near the beach, bet some of you in town had it worse?

Haha try camping at Rapid Bay in a tent! Did that shit last night... crazy wind! 2 tents actually snapped (well, one of the poles holding it up snapped).

Hooray for Big W tents!! Haha $30 tent from Big W = disposable tent.

Then we went walking... scaled the now closed rusty bridge, was awesome. Then walked in the old BHP mine site... that was also awesome. Then tried my hand at fishing... that was a failure. I caught some tiny fish that had some form of bug coming out its eye balls.

That's 2 awesome things in one weekend. It was pretty awesome.

Cronic I used to go to one of the shacks at Rapid Bay all the time.

Did you head down to the cave? Well, its more of a hole in the hill. If fishing fails can always try your hand at the yabbies.

Oh and you are aware about the human remains they found buried next to the tennis courts/oval? No kidding.

PS that mine/plant/whatever near the Jetty still operating?

Yeah Tom, went to that huge cave. Never realised that it goes in so deep!! We walked in, climbed up and started walking through that small tunnel part until it just went pitch black! It went on for ages! Didn't even reach the end due to lack of any form of light.

I wouldn't put it past anyone buring a body in that cave/mine site... let alone next to the tennis court!! It's a pretty strange down. It's basically abandoned.

And nope, that mine (BHP one) has shut down. It was still half-working about 9 years ago, but now it's completely shut down. They've bulldozed the front of it where a huge conveyor belt used to be hanging out, though. Which is a shame, as you could walk on the conveyor belt and walk into the mine. I managed to climb up and into the mine itself, but it's pretty crazy in there. Everything is rusted out and there's graffiti everywhere inside the actual mine itself. Crazy stuff. Reminds me of some abandoned ghost mine or something.

This is what I'm talking about:

Mining_in_the_Yankalilla_District_01.jpg

You can still walk in it, you just need to climb up heaps of stuff!!

Oh and they've finished building a new jetty down there. The old jetty has now been fenced off.

Edit: here's a better pic of that mine I'm talking about.

Edited by CRoNic...

are there holes still cut in the fences/gates cronic i went there a few weeks back caught heaps off mackerel, cod , snook , squid , and then a massive

white pointer came and scared all the fish had my

hunting spotlight so seen the shark at night no worries i was all the way at the end.!

i was using the mackerel as live bait on my braided 50ib combo so brought it in nice a quick so i wouldn't hook up on the shark,. It chased it i was like no don't get that fish if i did hook up on that massive white pointer i would have shat it not the safest jetty for that stuff when ur at the end.

+ there a protected species.

bit creepy at knight not even a servo open so i grab a farmers union IC maybe more ppl might visit now the new jetty is done.

They buldozed that side of the mine? Shame, childhood memories. I should go see the new Jetty, think it will bring the town back to life?

Oh and yeah it was on the news, they found aboriginal remains near that shed.

It's pretty hard to walk over the old jetty now - the fence is pretty solid with plenty of barb wire!! But if you're tall, you can still climb over it.

There's 2 fences leading to the new jetty, too... but they're hacked up lol so they're easy to get through!!

Yeah, no shops are open at Rapid Bay anymore! Not even the General Store! That shut down.

Damn man, u seriously deserve some beers for that effort.... boss shows u any love? I always feel for the guys fixing the shit, we had the blokes come past around 3am on Wed to fix the outage in our street... tis a thankless job eh

-D

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
