R33 chassis/serial numbers

I came across this on skylinesdownunder:

It purportedly shows the chassis/serial numbers of R33s.

The chassis number on my R33 waiting in Japan is ECR33-101269, if I go by the link above, that shows that it is a 95 model.

The one I have waiting in Japan has S2 front bar, S2 interior and from all indications is a S2.

Does this mean the information in the link is incorrect, or that the car has just had S2 bits put in it (which would seem like a fairly big effort).

fairly big efforts come out of japan jason thats how dodgy dealers get by in perth

uneekwahn my series 2 was the same in a way it worked out better for compliancing because 96 and after had 2 have more things changed so it wouldve cost more

i think there was a crossover end of 95 start of 96 with both series ones being made and series 2's either that or sumone told me the last few series 1's were made series 2's at factory just to get rid of them as a new model? but im not sure

i was told mine was 96 but it got registered as 95

I believe some of the 95's were updated to S2 specs as they may have sold in 96. My car was built in nov1993 wasnt sold until nov1994, hence its a 1994 model.

Hey Riaz,

the build date on your old series 2 (now tims) made it in the 96 range.

I'm not too worried about this as it would be logical that they had to build some 96 models in 95, they wouldn't have just woken up on 1 January 96 and started building the new ones.

Oh well, back to work for me today, will catch you there buddy.

Had you sold me a 95 under the guise of a 96 there would have been reprecussions. Like i would have had to hass le the person who sold me my insurance to change my insurance details. HAHA
