it won't happen.

government won't help, they'd rather keep fining people and crushing cars rather then have a place for "hoon's" to vent their needs.

i believe the problem here in newcastle is that the only drag strip is in sydney. i think if something like this opened it would bring down deaths, street racing, fines. everything related to speeding.

i'm sure the goverment could make revenue on a place like this?

ppl want to winge n wine if hooning goes on public roads

but we r running out of places to go with oran park closing (for drifters more than any one)

if some one lives close to the air strip ,go knock on the door n ask who owns it

We have already established who owns it. Its just a matter of where to go from here and obtaining correct contact details.

Ah, here's a question....how wide is the runway?

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=aZhatY8gD9I

2:10 onwards should give you a pretty good idea.

It's wide enough to fit 2 cars down it - I should know, ran the Subaru down it after filming wrapped up. :(

Sorry, the event would be too boring, all the courses would be a sprint to the cone then back to the start line.

We have other venues in the pipeline and this would've been a nice addition but just isnt suitable

2 cars at a time, have to accomodate for slaloms and things like that. Basically this runway is too thin, the reason im looking at airports is due to their large amount of tarmac used for the planes to taxi towards the runway, so we have a straight part and an area with corners to setup a "track" course, touching the grass means a penalty the same way hitting a cone does. Fastest of the day wins

Doesnt change the fact that we need a 1/4 mile strip built here in Newcastle somewhere!!

I want to run my car but Im not going to drive to Sydney mid week to do it.

agreed who wants to race after 2 hours of driving.

i think a track might lower hoon levels, but at the same time, sydney has a track and has the most hoons. or lebs.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
