Well it has happened. I sold my S2 yesterday so I am no longer a stagea owner. It was sure hard to see her go thats for sure.

Althought I kept in the backgound, I was on this site most every day. I found it was invaluable and one of the most down to earth forums around. So thanks to all the other stagea owners and those that have contributed to the wealth of knowledge on the site.

I will leave you all with a couple of pics of the car that my mate took the other day.

Cheers and all the best.

Scott

Yeah me too. Just sold the Autech. Sad day but these things do happen. I have only driven it once in the last year anyway.

Bought an Aus delivered GTR to replace it with so thats ok I guess.

Sad for your loss.

Its kind of the opposite for me, as I just got a 260RS and sold my R32GTR.

But in these difficult times I can not afford to keep both. Full comp insurance, rego and upkeep ie. quality parts, oils and so forth makes it impossible.

If anything good came from it, the sale has allowed me to purchase a R33GTS-t for the missus (its a surprise gift) and we'll get rid of her Bluebird SSS.

I'm sure your not alone in selling your vehicle, as I'm sure there are many people having little choice but to part with their pride and joy for something more manageable, cheaper insurance, run and service.

Maybe if things pick up again in the future you can buy another one? I know if my fortunes change, I'll have a collection of GTRs 32, 33 and 34, with the 260RS in my 4 car garage, that I'll build right next to my mansion.

:D

Not a forced sale..I loved the Stag..but I hardly drove it. We have 2 other cars in the family..plus a freind has left his porsche 911 with me while he is OS...plus paying rego and insurance..it all added up to letting her go.

..that being said..I am cashed up and its a really good time to buy..I am trying to be sensible and save my money..but... I just saw a skyline 350GT manual ..the cheapest one I have seen...I am tempted!

Its just a pity that for the first time since I got into imports I can see cheaper better cars being sold localy than from places like J-Spec and imports 101..its a real shame and I wonder if the days of going on line and drooling over the cars for sale in Japan are over.

As an example I saw a manual TT soarer for 10K on ebay..not a bid..they are twice that from Japan.Aristos,R34 sedans..even TT supras and GTO's..all cheaper than you can import from Japan..

I guess its good for local buyers..but the importers must be suffering big time...and if this trend keeps going..then the importers will stop buying and the import scene may suffer..I hope not...but it doenst look good to me from that perpective.

Yes, agree that there are so many well priced options now available form dealers and private sellers on very good import cars that I wonder if it is feasible at all to import especially with the screwed exchange rate.

The 350GT manual sounds like a great alternative.

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
