Hey guys me and my mates have organised a cruise for my brother who pasted away in a car accident on the 15/9/08 in a 180sx on commercial road.

The cruise will start off down south and head straight into the hills.

So far we have about 20 cars for sure and we started orgaising it yesterday.

2x r32 gtrs, 1 series 8 rx7, 2 rx3's, 1 180b sr20 powered, turbs 1200 and a couple of 33's to name a few.

Steven died in a import 180sx so lets all get together and cruise for someone who loved imports!

Cruise starts at 1:30 pm on march the 7th.

We are also trying to raise some money for his kids who have been left behind so they can try and have a good life without a dad with them. So if you can give a little please do. thanks guys

Message me for the location 0433174833

here's the flyer

ummm not 100% sure yet till we get the report, but we think he was speeding and went to over take some one so pulled out and there was an island there so he swerved to miss it and crashed into a stobby pole.

Ok iv.e been thinking about this all night and seriously think this thread should be shut

far be it for me to cast the first stone but c'mon a charity cruise for someone's stupidity

no child should have to go through life without a parent but he would still be here if he wasn't being silly

Do you know all the details? Its not like any cash is going to the guy who died, its going to his kids, and I think is a nice way for this guy to honor his brother.

I'm in 2 minds about this one :)

On one hand I see Steve's point in that if the aforementioned details as to how it happened are correct, then he paid a severe price for his stupidity & his family & friends are now suffering from it........and only big plus from all of this is that no innocent by-stander was taken down as well.

On the other hand, I see Ben's point of view and no matter how screwed up the circumstances were at the time, compassion for the guy's family & friends should be paramount right now (Steve, even Jesus showed compassion to those that had either stumbled or fallen).........based on that, I won't shut this down yet unless it gets silly in here.

Agreed Pete.

We don't know the full story. We all do stupid things ... for some people it cost them their lives. I hate hoons and drivers causing death, but there are always families who suffer on both sides of the coin.

    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
    • Starter motors used to use the weight of metal (magnets) to provide torque. Now they use (more) current instead. This. It's completely normal.
    • So thing that had me stumped, but I think is OK....is that when it was up in the air, in neutral I had it running to bleed to coolant while I put the wheels back on. I noticed the rears were turning (slowly) which I'd never seen before 20250928_163512.mp4     Because there had been an issue with clutch slip due to pedal adjustment on the dyno, I assumed there was still and issue so spent some quality time upside down under the dash adjusting the pedal....but no matter what I did the wheels still turned in neutral. Even disconnected the master cylinder to pedal rod and same. In despair, I even removed the clutch slave so there was no chance of any preload causing it.....still happened. So either: 1. Something is not right in the bellhousing, or 2. Its a thing sometimes with cold, thick gearbox oil Internet says it might be 2, I hope so!
    • OK, few more things sorted and it is ready for a shakedown on 10-Oct, with one weird thing. Changed the run in oil and filter for the good stuff. 8l came out, about 8.5 went in with filter so that looks all good. Changed the starter (again), this time for a brand new one, works good. Interesting that the Taaaarks one is shorter than factory but spins harder, I guess electronics have moved on a little in the last 30 years. Will be nice to have a bit of extra space under there. Put the timing cover back on, and noted where the cam gears were set as a record.  Will need to double check the timing but it is pretty close. Also put the coil pack cover and intake snorkel back on. Exhaust Inlet Changed the water out for coolant, bled up nicely. Removed the rear brake pads (well worn factory sumitomo ones!), gave the hardware a good clean and reassembled. I've put bendix XP on the back again because the price is excellent at $150 a set and they worked well on the V37. Front pads have plenty so no issue there
