i've got old-style AVC-R and S-AFC and an HKS fuel-cut defender, and i'm looking to tune the suckers a bit better... car runs *okay* but i cant help thinking i can get more out of it.

i want to run about 10-12psi boost (standard turbo/cooler), so does anyone have a decent S-AFC map i could use??? or is just the standard fuel map adequate for running that sort of boost? also, how do i throw the FCD into this equation?

with the combination of avc-r, afc and FCD, i have a feeling that either a) my injectors/fuel pump are not stock or B) the owner of the car before me was a rich rice-boy with no clue and would have driven the car to an early grave by cranking up boost and fuel beyond the cars capacity... which brings me to my next question. is there any easy way of telling whether the injectors are stock?

answers to these questions would be awesome.

grimr33per,

in regards to tuning the s-afc would it not be better to tune YOUR car on a dyno? Every car is different....had a different history, slightly different mods etc etc and therefore someone elses map may not work as well in your car. If you really can't afford the dyno costs I guess using a map off another car is better than nothing....but IMHO I'd rather save the dough and hit the dyno....

no probs man.......can't recommend any dyno's in brissie as I'm from Melb!!! In regard to dyno costs.......shops usually charge by the hour for a dyno tune and therefore depends on how much work they need to do....allow for anywhere between $200-600.

You can road tune an S-AFC, but you probably won't get the optimal power out of it. You just have to make sure you don't run it too lean. But if you can get it done for $80, don't waste your time doing it yourself. $80 is nothing, I paid double that.

Also grimr33per, all those mods are fine to run with the stock fuel system, so don't assume that your car has bigger injectors. My car had a similar setup and managed 214rwkw before leaning out. You pretty much need those mods *before* you bother with a bigger pump or injectors, so the previous owner hasn't just riced it up.

Edit: as for identifying the injectors, I haven't had a good look at mine yet but I think they don't have red/purple tops :P Also if you have a custom fuel rail for top-fed injectors they aren't stock.

I have a T04E. Flows a little better and can run higher boost than stock due to steel wheels but as such suffers from a bit more lag (it's really not bad at all though). In theory I should be able to hit 250rwkw with it but I'm not too sure the exhaust housing is big enough in its current form.

I got it done at Procar Dyno in Cromer Heights (Nthn Beaches) Tel: 99815099

you should be good to run 12psi on standard pump with standard computer, but when i fitted my 2530 i was running lean on 12psi. anyhow you will be able to tell whether or not when its being tuned on the Dyno
