haha @ Isola. lol well i was overwelmed by every1s car being so loud and mine sounded lke a corolla on idle, i actully thought something was wrong with my exhaust, only found out about Fujistubo and thier resonator crap a few weeks ago LOL

exhaust? pfft so last thursday

hks bov: what one? and how much?

Both pods and bovs are HKS. BOV I believe are that SSQ3 (latest one). 100 for pod and 250 for bov. All brand new.

Just on the exhaust... he really cant do it if its titanium. Someone has asked the question before about welding/cutting titanium. You'll need to find the right/same type of titanium to do that and from memory, you cant do steel to titanium.

Adam: Actually I like the Kakimoto ones. Quiet unless you're on boost + the burble is much more obivous. Anyway like Tristan said, dont bother with anything else until you're earning your own money. That way nobody can say anything.

Hey

Welcome Back!

I came across this little gem in my travels that I though you all might like.

Gentlemen, I present to you the Basilica of St Mang.

Lol, I like it!

A quality performance exhaust system thats not over the legal limit? Why would you want to ruin that?

Resonators are not cr*p, people generally just leave them out to make their exhaust louder. Meh, whatever floats your boat.

It's not about how much sound you make.... i mean look at the honda's. Heaps of sound...but they don't go anywhere

Hahaha. Very true and remind me of this yellow Evo on Mains Rd yesterday. Pssst Psst!

I see what you did there. Yea they're not crap unless they're f**king restrictive. If you like sound so much maybe you should get those bov from my friend... hahaha

haha i love this i see what you did there quotes, i dont even notice that stuff haha, hmmm just wanted thoughts, i guess yeh why ruin the exhaust as brandon said if its gonna be a big job because of the titanium, leanr something new everyday  im quite sensitive about exhaust note , especially after the first time a copper pulled me over, he asked if anything was wrong with my car as it was too quiet for a GTR, lol. that being said they always leave me alone as they assume a 4wd spec quiet GTR probably doesnt have much done to it,

haha

Titanium? Are you sure? I've done a bit of research before and its very hard to weld steel to titanium or even titanium to titanium...

plated / coated bro, its base would be stainless.

work hard for your cash so you appreciate shit more, my 2cents

f**kin oath, don't just spend money cause you can. as for your coilovers, take em to someone and get the car corner weighted with you in it. better solution for the long run. and then drive it like a gtr.

After the specs on the standard bov for a rb25. Interested to see a exploded view.. see whats going on in there. If anyone has got anything could you pm me please ?

Cheers,

hey dave, can you please explain, im not too familiar with coilovers etc. you mean after we put them in, weigh to balance them correctly? oh and i would reallly really appreciate it if you could come help with putting them in, i asked tristan if he could ask you, please please

The car gets driven over 4 scales, one at each wheel and they each weigh the car. Adjustments and shit are made to get a perfect balance....

oh alrite, any decent workshop should have the scales? i might ask Dan to do them, hopefully doesnt take too long, but i need to get the coilovers to him first, theyr sittin at home argh.

Yes... but Adam is obsessed with exhaust noise. He has so far talked about it EVERY time I've seen him.

Because it's not loud enough Uleh! Can't hear it over my subwoofahs bro!

Which is exactly what he wants to do.

Seriously mang, stop asking permission and just do what you want with YOUR CAR. If you want to be a show pony, louden up the exhaust. But saying that, if you only bought the car to turn heads, get rid of it, and buy a Lambo or a Ferarri or something.

just have them couriered down dude

Head Turner.

hahahaha so tru if i cum to think of it, its the why the hell is my car so quiet syndrome that hits me when im sorrounded by other skylines,

nah man im never really into turning heads stuff, i dont even head to the spit or places where people bring their "hotted up cars"my car barely clocks 300ks a week , n most of that is groceries and haircuts thats about it,the longest trip its makes every week is to chapell hill and the carwash, ive always wanted a GTR coz like i said in Qatar unless u know the king personally its next to impossible to able to get one, no matter even if your willing to pay 100grand AUD for it, just very difficult, so it means alot have one here.

at the end of the day 18 year olds will always be 18 year olds, i just happen to be one  ,

    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
