Call them hoebags and go off. They won't take you seriously unless you make a complaint about the service. They'll do a line test and then get you to mess with your settings. What modem you using? Dlink by any chance??

Dlink G604T or something like that.

No, one carton of XXXX and one of carlton :)

You shouldn't filter the line that the adsl is on...

If you have a 'splitter' that has an input and 2 outputs (one that says 'phone' and one that says 'adsl' or 'modem') then that's ok, just make sure you use the adsl/modem one. But if its just a plain old filter (one input one output) f**k it off, it'll be filtering out most of your adsl bandwidth

Nah its a splitter thingymabob with the two outputs and it is plugged into the adsl one. Was thinking it could be shitty phone lines in the building as it's 20+ years old. But still going to call them today.

secret drift morning session this morning

Goodo.

Try going to http://www.speedtest.net/ to test your speed. Then see if you can find in your modem the line attenuation and noise, and synch speeds and post them up for me, along with the speed test results. (Make sure nothing else is smashing the internets when u run the speed test, ie torrents, etc).

+1

well 260kb is about right for a 2mb line speed. But if you are that close to the exchange with ADSL2, you should be getting closer to 20mb line speed and 2000kb download.

Wots ur address (PM me if you like)

2930 Gold Coast Highway.

Yeah, you should really be getting 10x the speed that you are.

According to TPG maps:

Line of sight distance: 231m. Possible cable distance: 393m.

So basically, you are next door to it :P

i got this apparently its average

Yeah thats about what I was getting at St lucia, hope to get a lot more now because I'm closer to the exhange (although not as close as colin, about 600m line of site for me, 1-1.2km cable distance)

    • Hopefully you can just unbolt them, thank them for their service, then bin them and not replace them Apparently the sensors like to set them off with only minor impacts at low speed It looks like they do a delete kit for some of these, but, it is costly
    • I hope it's actually possible. This is a write off in insurance world.
    • Yup. 2-way with shallow ramp angles. Still works.
    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
    • I guess it’s partially a compromise of how my car is used, wanting to be able to switch from drift to grip with track side on-car adjustment. Also partially with the way the knuckles are set there is more static camber but less dynamic camber gain.
