For a report that's been going all damn day, there's piss-all information. They just hit the repeat button on the dvd player...

Its bullshit isnt it. Radio is far more informative.

Hey guys, try ALDI, i know its weird and german and shit but apparently no one goes there so it contains ample food supplies, not the we are going to need them.

agree with you there noel, abc radio gives a pretty good coverage of it.

Went to the servo earlier cause i needed coke for my scotch, old mate said once the coles over the road ran out of bread and milk he had a wall of people running to his servo, even fighting like it was the last loaf of bread ever, its funny watching people panic. I'll make my own bread tomorrow i think, its not hard.

Morning Mangs,

Hope everyone got home from work OK and no one is flooded.

Sounds like its going to hit a lot higher now! They just said 22m on the TV. I hope you guys are going to be OK, get your important stuff out and get to higher ground.

OK so 22m was ipswich. They are talking at least 5 or 6 meters for brisbane though, I hope you are high enough!

Yeah I switched it off when it started repeating itself.

Ahh Noel, you're so old school :)

Bugger, ALDI is on the other side of the river...

But yeah no big deal, I just wanted some food for the two days or so I'll be home, but I got plenty now.

Yeah the check out chick @ woolies said the same. She was pretty hot.

People are just practicing for the impending zombie apocalypse...

That reminds me, I told Jason I was going to check the Zombie flowchart and get back to him. He was waiting a reply....... I hope he's ok.

Morning Mangs,

Just got back home from work. Abandoning the site for today and tomorrow until everything is passed then we'll see how we fared. No idea what to do now though lol.

Hey guys,

Hope you are all staying dry.

There has been so much information on boostcruising.com about the floods and most of it came through before it was even on any of the news channels.

http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=683061&st=1075

All the relevant info will hopefully be in the first post but it is also scattered throughout the thread. There is also lots of willing volunteers on the site who are offering help to anybody that needs it.

Cheers,

Chris.

hopefully this doesn't lead to the zombie apocalypse, i still got 6-8 weeks to wait.

Looking like a nice day today. I don't have to go to work today or tomorrow

alrighty, going to brave the gateway and make my way up to nudgee.

will pick up supplies on my way back (bourbon, coke, beer, jerky and mixed nuts. possibly dvds)

Get far?

f**king awesome day to have off work lol. Spent the morning rearranging my room. Put my desk up and installed Ubuntu on the laptop. Now I'm wondering what to do with the rest of the day. I was thinking about checking out Wivenhoe but I don't know if that's such a smart idea lol.

Wivenhoe viewing area has been closed since monday. Not that it matters, since the bridge over the river just downstream of the dam has been closed since then aswell, i think.

yeah. Guess I'll chill at home. Holy shitballs @ milton maccas. High tide is at 2:30ish apparently.

Closer to 3.30 i think.

Farkin lol at milton. Because lang park is on fire too http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/suncorp-stadium-on-fire/story-e6freuy9-1225986138040

Just got home from tarping and sandbagging the workshop. 4 day weekend!!

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
