Ok folks, here's the deal!!

My mate owned this car about 7 years ago, 3 years later he sold it to me, 3 years later again i sold it back to him, and he has had it for about a year or so now, BUT being a business man and running his own business, he hasn't had the time to drive it and has a company car. SO he has asked me to sell it for him(I have the car to sell), as i used to own it and know everything about it.

Ok the car is a 9/1996 model M Spec series 2, was imported waaaaay back in 1998 by the SVD president, and bought by my mate in 2002, bought by me in 2005 and bought back by my mate in 2008, So there's the history lesson!!

Over all the car is in great shape, apart from the usual blemishes like a crack or two on the front bar, there is also a dent on the rear pillar on the passenger side where a umbrella has fallen on it(will try and fix), and also the ariel wont go up. So there is the minor detail of the issues.

This car has been well looked after for ALL of its life(168,XXXkms), early days it had seen "some" work done by Tilbrooks, but as of the last 5 years or so it has only been to see Shaun and Troy down at Boostworx for tunes and mods, servicing has been done by myself or my bro in law(Qual Mech). The sound of this thing under full throttle is amazing, and although both myself and my mate had plans for a squirt at Mallala(grip) it never happened, so it hasn't ever seen a track.

The price is higher as we are not in a hurry to sell, It is however negotiable, but if you offer something stupid you will be treated the same. Pictures are included of the couple cracks in front bar, and of the slight dent.

I have been thru a couple defect stations and have been let off, In the time i owned the car personally i never got any trouble from the cops, and yes it was driven as a daily, during day time AND night time as i work shift work! Also the engine bay looks very much standard apart from a pod!

Cheers

Darren

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
