wow those pics prove that work has been going on at AIR

how did you get hold of those pics James....hopefully AIR can open up sometime soon

would be good to know my quarter mile times etc etc

Yeah a little bit of work has been done, return road is blue metal waiting for spray coat sealer. Track hasn't actually been re-surfaced yet, those light coloured patches are down the end of the track.

And i cant reveal my sources :D

:bunny: !!! Its about time we get it back !!! :bunny::banana:

Now lets hope cops dont wait for us to leave after events to defect us (just like at Lala  )

Thats the thing i hated. You go there to have "fun" legaly, but when you leave the cops defect you.

well if your car is defectable, then that is the risk you take.

Spot on Damo....if your car is defectable then take the plates off and tow it down there mate....i am going to take my car to lala and i am atm thinking of taking a trailer with me as well just in case for the worst scenario

you wont have a problem with getting defected at a grip day krish, normally just drift days when the cops show up. probably still a good idea to tow it just incase anything *taps wood* fails out on the track.

Yeah Chad is right, a 1/4 mile strip equal 1/2-3/4 mile once you factor in run off area and stagging area. heard from a really reliable source with links to the EPA that AIR is pretty much a no go, mainly due to Mr. Jane buying contaminated fill to build the mounds. Yep still full of asbestos!

But its great to see everyone raising some great and valid point in here. And thanks Peter, just thought it would help take the heat of you and Andrew after the last few days.

What about this though?

Still what im hearing from a couple of sources, explains why work on the track hasn't been finished. Would cost millions to de-contaminate the site, i know there was a small clean up done just after the mounds were built, for exactly the same reason.

imo until AIR changes hands i think its dead and buried it has been closed for over 8 years now. how many times have we been told its due to be opened? no point in even talking about it anymore. its either a new motorsport complex (fingers crossed) or its nothing.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
