what is this group 5 race thing???

On the entry form in the sup regs you would have filled out you had to enter capacity group. eg ,4 2501 - 3000cc, 5 3001cc to 5000cc, 6 5001- over

then mods

none =Standard

1-2 mods = street

3-4 mods = club

5 or more modifications or Slicks = Race

So you, brad and I will be group 5 Race

the Boosted Zed and mark and russ if the 34 is now 3ltr will be in 6 Race

Hey Funky monkey where did you think I had been? Mainly, actually almost only here on motorsports section of forum.

Yep this event will be a big one and a good one.

Went out to practice yesterday, so many cool old and new cars, this is going to be super ditsan shoot out. Very much looking forward to sunday. Although I didn't see them, booted Z tells me Mark and Ross are comming with the 34 and 35 GTR's.

Well went to the Show n Shine today! Some very neat, clean and tidy datsuns/nissans. Unfortunately it's been raining since the show n shine wrapped up, so no drags tonight.

Hopefully a bit less water lying around tomorrow!

Here's a couple of pic's will load the others up later.

Great meet. Some great cars and good people. Some awesome machinery.

I had fun, ended up leaving broken, but hey, thats racing. :D Only had one flying session on Sunday, shame... :P

Message to the old fart in the flag tower at the bridge. If you think I was drifting, you have obviously never turned on the t.v and watched some motorsport. It's called power oversteer, and I'm pretty sure every car in class was doing the same. Go back to your nissan cube and polish the exhaust tip.

I'll upload some vid to youtube that shows the back stepping out a little bit after the bridge and me feathering the throttle. Funny form of drifting! I do kind of like to go fast, not sideways, sorry the car isnt set up well and I cant drive for sh1t, but hey, I must be a professional drifter!

Thanks to Brad to borrowing me some silicon and thanks to the boys for helping push up the trailer.

Ps Mark n Russ machine is a MONSTER!!!!

Great day. Poor showing by the skyline community tho.

Only a handfull amid a myriad of Z's and datto 1600's etc. Mikie was tearin it up till officialdom declared him a drifter and shut him down. Dickheads!

Russ and mark kept us entertained along with Noddy and V8ETA.

I do not ever weant to try and modify a Z. Gawd those things are a slug. They must weigh about the same as a b double. A couple of quick examples there but not in the same street as the hot lines.

All in all a very enjoyable day.

Now now fella's, there is 1 thing you should think about first. The flag marshal at the bridge was no other than John Siddens, a name you should know as the guy who will peddle a 240Z car power/speed sliding it harder than either of you ever will and he has won his class at Taga tas before too. WRXkilla, we could hear you kicking the clutch at least twice on the lap in question going under the bridge... so put the propper footage up.

There was a distinct lack of skylines in the sprints, Warwick is not very far from brisbane. Where were all the guys that run at QR???

Seriously Nod, I dont think Mike has ever clutch kicked the car as long as he's owned it. Getting on and off the loud pedal may sound like its being clutch kicked but i doubt it was.

He drives way more radical than that at qr and is always a crowd pleaser.

He is also big and ugly enough to defend himself too so I'll say no more other than the boys had way more sidewas action going in the 34 than mikie ever did.

If I was organized I should have been there competing instead of spectating, but I'm a useless bastard. Was good to meet you Noddy and also Mark & Russ and to see all of you guys in action. Like Noel, I know Mike was not trying to drift that corner - he was out there to try and get around the track as fast as possible.

Sorry to see the engine dramas Mike - hopefully its not too bad and she'll be back in action asap.

i most certainly have never kicked the clutch. its called a gear change. When changing gear and coming on boost, it likes to step out.

Its not like I was at the back of the pack putting round ripping skids! the car is reasonably quick.

i will upload my video of my only full session for proof of this drifting...! honestly, its not all that sideways at all! talk about fun police.

I'lll let youtube do the talking and will rest my case...

Great fun, great guys, great cars, rest of the officials put on a great event.

quote that for the truth, big up for Mark Berry in the 34, but that thing sure had more traction loss than me!

phenominal car, cnad its great to watch sliding around the place.

Here's my laps fellas.

sorry, I just dont see any effort at all that comes any snippet close to drifting...

I dont profess to be some gun driver, but as you can hear, i sure as hell dont stick on the lock and plant the throttle.

Sorry to be harping on, but my warning was pretty stern, and I beleive unwarranted.

all fun, but trenchcoat wearing officials need an honest reality check!

Cheers

Mick

I saw that run and did think it was a little tail happy (Not anything near Drifting more good show type).

But there were heaps of cars driving under the bridge with power over steer than yourself.

All in All i had a great time watching, some very quick cars.

wrxkilla: What was the problem with the car?

    • They are in fact just nozzles. They are there only to produce a spray pattern and limit flow. The injector itself is what I use to control flow to the 7x nozzles. My old system had no injector and only PWM the pump. This lead to a lot of inconsistencies, and poor atomization at low pressure when the pump was ramping up.
    • With the system, once you drive it for a bit, and before you turn the car off, does the car fix its date and time? When you say the date is wrong, what date does the vehicle think it is, and does it always show the same date? My thoughts from a process driven view is; The system may be defaulting to a standard start date/time. The main reason you'd typically see this occuring, is the system is losing its constant/backup power supply.   If its always defaulting to the same date/time at start up, and especially if it fixes itself while driving, I'd say either the non volatile memory has an issue, or the power supply to the volatile memory that stores this information.   The other thing I'd check is if there is anywhere in the system you can adjust the date and time from. If the date/time is still moving forward since it wished you happy new year, then it is 100% possible the system has just had a bit of data corruption occur, and you likely need to find a way to reset the date/time in the vehicle.
