Not much happens on the Gold Coast in the way of meets?

Still waiting to go to my first one!

Got my 34 GTT in April and still haven't been to one :P

Hey i just got a V35 (350GT skyline) last weekend and found a secret skyline club by accident haha

My bro got home from holidays on one night this week and I took him out for a drive late at night, anyway as i am driving down this road (i wont say in here as lol, i think its their secret meeting point) we are behind a R31, R33 and a RX7, The R33 and RX7 take off fast, im stuck behind this R31, finally get a chance to overtake and i catch up 3mins ish later (man the V35 stick to the road like glue!!!!!), and i drive with them for about 3 or 5 corners and all of a sudden I think there has been a accident as i see like at least 20 if not more skylines all pulled over, there was no accident, they just hanging...

We just pulled over at the front end of the pack and sat there for 5mins watching but no one came up to the car so we just headed home again... So point of story, there is a massive get together of skylines, but i dunno who they are or what forum if any they belong too...

Hmmm... interesting. Never heard or read anything about this anywhere. Can you PM me said place? If its Tuesday night, it might be that meet for photoshooting someone posted some time ago (I think magazine shots too).

There is usually a few at the Spit on Sundays, yep we should organise something soonish-Brandon get onto it

Yea I wouldnt mind after I've jack the car higher.

So no weekly hangouts happen on the South side around Robina area?

They have weekly meets up near indooroopilly, bit far for me.

Anyone keen to do even a monthly meet up or something near Robina or even Broadbeach?

I'd be keen to meet up, recently moved here and dont know anyone... living and working near cavil so i dont mind heading north or south. i own a r32 gtst. Would be nice to meet some people and hopfully make some new friends.

Wednesday Night - 7:30 at the Kurrawa Surf Club car park. Find somewhere to go and grab a feed after that and talk shit. Anyone else keen? I'll make an events thread if you like.

Sounds good to me-I will be there

So we had Jaylon and his mate turn up on Wednesday. Lets keep this thing rolling mangs. Any other suggestions for a better place to meet up other than Kurrawa? We need somewhere with decent parking that has somewhere to get a feed close by. I would prefer to keep it further south as Southport normally has coppers doing the rounds later on in the night.

Put up some suggestions for new places and possible activities to do during the meet. Carwash, good spot to go for a drive etc.

  • 2 weeks later...

The wednesday night meet was on again this week. We're getting better turn outs each week which is great. If you have been meaning to come out and say hi but are shy/lazy etc then man the f**k up and come out don't be lame :O

    • Yeah well per the video it took 15s for the stock unit to start up....even if I give it a few seconds discount for starting that is at least 12 sec before you get a reverse camera if you are trying to leave a park.  The android unit is way faster, but 2016 for the stock unit is a long time ago in consumer electronics
    • Yea that’s why I said ima test them with multimeter and see the reads.
    • Only at idle. Isn’t a problem when rev it seems.
    • @Haggerty This seems silly to ask, but are you confident in your ability to tune the Haltech?
    • Next on the to-do list was an oil and filter change. Nothing exciting to add here except the oil filter is in a really stupid place (facing the engine mount/subframe/steering rack). GReddy do a relocation kit which puts it towards the gearbox, I would have preferred towards the front but there's obviously a lot more stuff there. Something I'll have to look at for the next service perhaps. First time using Valvoline oil, although I can't see it being any different to most other brands Nice... The oil filter location... At least the subframe wont rust any time soon I picked up a genuine fuel filter, this is part of the fuel pump assembly inside the fuel tank. Access can be found underneath the rear seat, you'll see this triangular cover Remove the 3x plastic 10mm nuts and lift the cover up, pushing the rubber grommet through The yellow fuel line clips push out in opposite directions, remove these completely. The two moulded fuel lines can now pull upwards to disconnect, along with the wire electrical plug. There's 8x 8mm bolts that secure the black retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly is now ready to lift out. Be mindful of the fuel hose on the side, the hose clamp on mine was catching the hose preventing it from lifting up The fuel pump/filter has an upper and lower section held on by 4 pressure clips. These did take a little bit of force, it sounded like the plastic tabs were going to break but they didn't (don't worry!) The lower section helps mount the fuel pump, there's a circular rubber gasket/grommet/seal thing on the bottom where the sock is. Undo the hose clip on the short fuel hose on the side to disconnect it from the 3 way distribution pipe to be able to lift the upper half away. Don't forget to unplug the fuel pump too! There's a few rubber O rings that will need transferring to the new filter housing, I show these in the video at the bottom of this write up. Reassembly is the reverse Here's a photo of the new filter installed, you'll be able to see where the tabs are more clearing against the yellow OEM plastic Once the assembly is re-installed, I turned the engine over a few times to help build up fuel pressure. I did panic when the car stopped turning over but I could hear the fuel pump making a noise. It eventually started and has been fine since. Found my 'lucky' coin underneath the rear seat too The Youtube video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLJ65pmQt44&t=6s
