here it is. Ok, i didnt go to the meeting last night, but this how id like to see the outcome:

SAUSA. No other names, the ability to use the documents already created by our brothers interstate will be invaluable, as well as the support form the biggest skyline enthusiast forum in Australia. Stageas dont just live in Adelaide, im sure the interstate club caters for them too. Otherwise well have the StagLineSilFiro club.

Any Nissan Skyline enthusiast can join, regardless of vehicle. Works elsewhere, why not here? If its skylines only, its too much of a niche and wont work.

Ruby ,Are you serious about that name? or just joking ?

to be honest , its pretty lame. Maybe something best decided when the BBQ happens for more input rather then the limited input from last night ?

my 2 Cents

and sorry for not coming last night for face to face input but its over a 100k , and didnt feel like walking if the car broke down, lol fuel problems

Troy,

We're still toying with a fit for the name ... amongst many other things. We want links to SAU obviously, but we also want a fresh name that will be "catchy", good or bad.

I have proposed to Kell we run with various options to be presented at the BBQ. And yes something like SAU-SA StagLines Club will be presented as an option.

PM me or Kell to discuss this ... as I believe this attempt will yet be shot down by whingers, so I've requested this thread gets locked for the time being.

:D

Bottom line is ... do you want a club full of sooks and compromises, or a club that gets the job done for enthusiasts?

The anti-SAU-SA curse will not stop us this time.

As long as you were joking about the name change I'm sure it'll work out fine. SAUSA seems to be the vastly more popular choice - especially since we wish to be affiliated with this board. The SAU-QLD has the right policy. 2/3 criteria, so RB Nissans (stags) can still have a part.

If you want your say, come to the bbq lunch Kell posted.

Sounds like a good idea, provided if everyone gets heard out. If you're gonna have a bbq and ignore most of the folks on this forum thread (aka the exchanging of ideas, like the MSN session you weren't present at) then you won't get the interest required.

That said, if its still gonna be the SA chapter of SAU, then it'll do well.

I wasn't at the meeting last night as I have commitments I can't get out of EVERY Wednesday night, But....

I don't see why there is an issue with SAU-SA with the inclusion of Stagea's, and other Nissan Imports as pointed out by Damo R34 and Dohmar.....(I think thats' what these guys were trying to say, correct me if I'm wrong)?

To me it makes a little sense to put up a small fee (20 bucks or so) to show your interested in the club, cuts out the people who try to undermine everything.

than once you have a base group who want to be part of it , decide on the name thru a vote?

ruby, what happens when you sell off all your stags, will you continue to be involved in the club?

is there a requirement for people such as treasurer etc to have a skyline or derivative of it ? a vested interest ?

not stir up the pot just wondering if that has been addressed or not ?

We understand that.

At the moment, it is being discussed to limit the club to enthusiasts (not necessarily owners) of RB powered Skylines and Stageas. If we open the door to ANY Nissan import it gets too complex. We must draw the line somewhere. And you're level of "Skyline and Stagea enthusiast" will be recognised by the club. This is a structure I am currently nutting out for the club. We have a whole range of ideas for the club (such as support getting members off defects) that will be limited to enthusiasts, not simply owners of Skylines or Stageas.

But we don't want a name decided by people who will never join. We will take down suggestions for new ideas and preferences for names at the BBQ, and discuss this (and other things) at our next meeting.

There will be a membership fee and that is being worked out by myself and the 'club organising committe' in the interim.

More will be discussed at the BBQ gathering. I've said enough for now and don't feel like repeating myself.

ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED AT THE BBQ GATHERING ON THE 25TH APRIL

PM KELL FOR DETAILS.

:D How about the "RubyKellClub". Rolls off the tongue........

So.... you spent some time just then registering for this forum just so you could act like a knobhead?

Thought so..... Let me guess, when mods check your IP they notice you're already registered but banned? Thought so too!!!

My thoughts too Steve ... that or its someone who knows I've blocked them, as I have no interest in anything he has to say.

i think SAU-SA is the way to go... but ill support any dessicion thats made by the group... although i do believe SkygeaSA would roll off the tongue a little better than Stagline...

I do like that. I'll put that on the list of options. Subject to public opinion at the bbq (not here) of course. :D

100% accurate. SAUSA is the best one (IMHO) so far, and Damo was spot on with the affiliation and the assistance of the other groups as a template

Troy has the right idea too...$20 isnt much to ask for a donation (esp when it comes with a sausage and piece of bread)... provided this horrendous stagline name gets shot down at the bbq lol..

he can borrow one of ours hehehe

I didn't attend last night... for the most part of the day/night i had my head stuck in a spew bucket.

How bout we all lay off Roo about the names ect.. its just a suggestion that will probably be voted on by members anyway.

The fee for $20 bucks is a good idea to show interest.

I don't see why stags can't be included in SAU SA. Nor do i see the harm in having other nissans involved aswell if they have a genuine interest in skylines. Like Damo said, if there is a particular cruise where its skylines only... then other nissan owners should respect that and stay away. As long as we have set rules and EVERYONE sticks to them, then all should run smoothly.

If this gets off the ground, then we should be very thankful to the guys who are actually putting in the hard yards to do it.

We will definitely be at the bbq to show support and appreciation.

We should try and keep this thread clean of bullshit in respect and appreciation of the organisers trying to get this going.

i think the major think alot of people might be wondering is, is this an SkylinesAustralia.com club or a private club with its own name,

i, just like many other am a user who does not post much but does follow things like this

IMHO if this is a club that is not being associated with SAU it shouldn't be organised on this forum, again this is in my honest opinion

if this club is infact going to be SAU:SA i would be much more inclined to join and participate

but the way i'am reading it at the moment it is just a few peopel who want to start an independent club and that is not very inviting to SAU users who do not actually attend cruses etc

i would be interested in joining if this is SAU:SA and it would mainly be so i can attend track days

WOW, i swear i just signed onto SkylinesChina.com..

talk about selective hearing. basically u guys only want positive critisim, not constructive. if this doesnt change, it will be ur demise.

see heres my prerogative:

i dont plan on being part of this club, not coz i dont fit in or like u guys. but i dont like the whole club feel and commitments that go with it. much prefer doing my own thing.

so i dont have an agenda to sway decisions in my favour. if silvia's arnt included, doesnt mean a thing to me. so my cristism to the club is purely to help u guys overcome unforseeable obstacles (for people new to starting a club).

now with ruby. anything that isnt custom caterer to him and stagea's, then he calls for a locking of this thread. hes only interested in this club if it allows him entry. not what is best for skyline owners in general. i got nothing against ruby as i have never met him, but this attitude is very selfish and has single handedly ended a lot of clubs that existed in sa.

like whats already been stated. have ur own lil stagea thing. and just merge cruises together.

You're way off the mark there champ. You have no idea. You have no idea what was discussed at the meeting, nor my (or anyone else's) intentions for the club. You were never at the table either when Nene, Ben and I meet with SAPOL for SAU's benefit. My attitude is far from selfish, when I've done so much for SAU. And I'm still here despite the bashing I get from members like you and Rhys.

I'm taking the hardline to get this club off the ground. Too many SAU SA attempts have been knocked down by keyboard warriors, and people who just don't want to believe. Kell and I are working hard and if we chose to be ruthless to get the club running successfully (whatever it takes) then we do it for the interest of an SAU SA club, not in your view of an "ideal" club, nor because we are "selfish".

"Selfish"? Hardly.

Edited by RubyRS4

maybe its never gotten off the ground coz SAU is sufficient.

seriously, all u guys need to do is print a new batch of stickers that say SAU:SA. done and done.

otherwise its a totally unrelated club run by a bunch of mates for mates.

i was going stay out of this but i will ask about one point;

Everyone is proposing the SAU-SA mane but has anyone checked with the owner of the SAU name as to whether he will be willing to let you use it.

Also you need to form a steering commitee and that will get rid of the vested interest claims that are starting to pop up.

I have (along with a number of others) just formed a dirt circuit club close to adelaide (you might remember the thread a few weeks ago) so i know what i;m talking about when i say that you need a steering commitee that al the decissions need to go through.

Also people are saying that you need to be affiliated with this club and that club but you don't; if i understand what you are trying to form then you well be in parallel with these clubs and the only afiliation you will need is with CAMS (which isn't going to be easy).

But yes the first thing you need to check is whether you can use the SAU name and if you can't then "r32skylin" is right you can't post your threads on SAU.

    • I thought that might be the case, thats what I'll start saving for. Thanks for the info
    • Ps i found the below forum and it seems to be the same scenario Im dealing with. Going to check my ECU coolant temp wire tomorrow    From NICOclub forum: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Thu Apr 11, 2013 7:23 am I am completely lost on this. Car ran perfectly fine when I parked it at the end of the year. I took the engine out and painted the engine bay, and put a fuel cell with an inline walbro 255 instead of the in tank unit I had last year. After reinstalling everything, the engine floods when the fuel pump primes. if i pull the fuel pump fuse it'll start, and as soon as I put the fuse back in it starts running ridiculously rich. I checked the tps voltage, and its fine. Cleaned the maf as it had some dust from sitting on a shelf all winter, fuel pressure is correct while running, but wont fire until there is less than 5psi in the lines. The fuel lines are run correctly. I have found a few threads with the same problem but no actual explanation of what fixed it, the threads just ended. Any help would be appreciated. Rb25det s1 walbro255 fuel pump nismo fpr holset hx35 turbo fmic 3" exhaust freddy intake manifold q45tb q45 maf   Re: s1 RB25det flooding at start up Fri Apr 12, 2013 5:07 am No, I didn't. I found the problem though. There was a break in one of the ecu coolant temp sensor wires. Once it was repaired it fired right up with no problems. I would have never thought a non working coolant temp sensor would have caused such an issue.
    • Hi sorry late reply I didnt get a chance to take any pics (my mechanics on the other side of the city) but the plugs were fouled from being too rich. I noticed the MAF wasn't genuine, so I replaced it with a genuine green label unit. I also swapped in a different ignitor, but the issue remains. I've narrowed it down a bit now: - If I unplug and reconnect the fuel lines and install fresh spark plugs, the car starts right up and runs perfectly. Took it around the block with no issues - As soon as I shut it off and try to restart, it won't start again - Fuel pressure while cranking is steady around 40 psi, injectors have good spray, return line is clear, and the FPR vacuum is working. It just seems like it's getting flooded after the first start I unplugged coolant sensors to see if its related to ECU flooding but that didnt make a difference. Im thinking its related to this because this issue only started happening after fixing coolant leaks and replacing the bottom part of the stock manifolds coolant pipe. My mechanic took off the inlet to get to get to do these repairs. My mechanics actually just an old mate who's retired now so ill be taking it to a different mechanic who i know has exp with RBs to see if they find anything. If you have any ideas please send em lll give it a try. Ive tried other things like swapping the injectors, fuel rail, different fuel pressure regs, different ignitor, spark plugs, comp test and MAF but the same issue persists.
    • My return flow is custom and puts the return behind the reo, instead of at the bottom. All my core is in the air flow, rather than losing some of it up behind the reo. I realise that the core really acts more as a spiky heatsink than as a constant rate heat exchanger, and that therefore size is important.... but mine fits everything I needed and wanted without having to cut anything, and that's worth something too. And there won't be a hot patch of core up behind the reo after every hit, releasing heat back into the intake air.
    • There is a really fun solution to this problem, buy a Haltech (or ECU of your choice) and put the MAF in the bin.  I'm assuming your going to want more power in future, so you'll need to get the ECU at some stage. I'd put the new MAF money towards the new ECU.
