Sensational info guys....you are all making me feel more comfortable with picking up one of these beauties.

I got a PM yesterday recommending Nagoya Motors http://www.nagoyamotors.com.au and they seem to be offering free 3 year warranty and a years rego. Dunno if they do servicing and repairs as yet. They are also only about 20 mins from where I live!! I'll be checking them (and their stock) out real soon!

I've pretty much decided that what I want is a 350GT with tiptronic/semi-auto, premium (obviously) in pearl with leather/suede. Ideally with 18" rims. I reckon that I'll be able to get a low k's 2003 or 2004 model for under 30K which frankly is bloody amazing!

I did see a thread which discussed what fuel consumption I can expect, but it was quite confusing. I'm still puzzled as to what fuel they will run on. Premium only, unleaded, E10? And whether I'l get 8L/100k or 14L/100k? Clearly drving style makes a big difference. I tend to drive pretty steadily. Anyone wanna guess an expected consumption figure?

Also, on the numbers, If I pick up an '04 for about 30K, any guesses as to what a residual might be after 4 years?

Now this might seem like an odd question, but anyone know what the vehicles dimensions are. My side of the garage is the "short" side and I need to be sure that it'll fit!!

I'd better go find one to test drive now, just to make sure that I REALLY like 'em !!

:(

With a 2 Dr Coupe Tim, you just need to turn your wheels a bit after entering your garage, and then the wide door won't be so much of a problem (for you to get out) EXCEPT that the door can end up hitting the wall. Therefore, stick an old sponge to the wall so the the door will rest on that as you get out. This is made easier by putting bricks on the floor where you want the front (or back) wheels to rest.

Fuel consumption might be about 10.5 to 11.5l/100Km est. depending on....

Fuel used should be 95RON or higher.

For my wife, we were wondering what to get between the final choice of a V35 or a E39 BM 530i for under $30K.

So enjoy your new wheels. Alex at Nagoya has a great reput'n.

E39... that sounds like pretty old by now... just becareful if anything wrong with it repair can be expensive... at least a Nissan that old will be cheaper to fix, but a nissan is a cheap nissan and a BMW is well, a well-known BMW... so the choice is really up to you..

Hi Guys.

Went out to Nagoya in Sydney today to take a look at a 350GT....seemed to have exactly what I was looking for only in silver not my preferred white/pearl..

In the interest of full and transparent disclosure on this forum, I have to say I was most disappointed!

Let me say up front that "Alex" (who seems to have the good rep) was not there......but......the cars, even though inside were presented very poorly.

The one that I was particularly interested in was dirty, there were even cobwebs on the wheels. The engine bay was grubby, the cars battery was flat and had to be jumped and the guy I spoke to appeared as though he didn't really want to be there.

In fairness I should say that the car seemed to be in good order and had the original auction report in the glove box with a 4.5/5 rating.

The guy I spoke with didn't seem too interested in doing business.....to the extent that he would not allow me to test drive (bear in mind that i'm 44 with money in the bank, not 19 and on my P's !!) without putting a deposit down on the car !!! Are you kidding? Never going to happen!

Anyway, far from being put off. This has made me more determined to hold out for exactly the car the I want. There seem to be plenty of clean private sales out there. When I get some free time, I'll scour the web and visit some genuine enthusiasts.

I'm sure that I'll meet some very nice people who've cared for their rides as well as I plan to....

Peace. :)

i have mine insured with shannons and its stated on the policy as a v35 nissan skyline and its $1202.50 as my wife has had an accident in my r33 and we are both in our 40s i have had quote from just cars and they where dearer than shannons at the time

Me, 34 - Shannons Ins on R33 GTS-T fully modified Category agreed value of $16,000, good record is about $1200 a year tho I have a GSXR600 Road bike too.

Got a quote for a $40,000 V35 and it was a LOT cheaper, from memory around $800 - No Turbo!!

Call them and talk...

Just Cars ex-customer - Shannons cheaper and offer multi-vehicle discount.

exactly what i was thinking when reading..

and the 19 yrs old stories do hurt me* coz when i buying my first car, i was only 18 when i walk in a dealer.. then at 21, my v35.. Lucky i did bring along cash for deposit..

I pity other boys in 19s that read these... "Dont have that much money on hand like a REAL adult" is not something that people are proud of..

When you find a nice dealer... let me know especially if they have a bit of spotless stock in manual, Premium.

Good luck!

Hi dannyw...I mean no offence to the U20's....I was one once !!.....My gripe is with the dealer. I understand that they might need to be careful and protect their stock (and time) from joy riders and time-wasters. I'm sure that they get few who just want to play! But , c'mon surely any dealer worth their salt ought to be able to tell the difference between a serious "mature" buyer and a "less serious" buyer who had nothing better to do that afternoon.

Maybe we should start another thread on "How to get a dealer to treat you seriously and with respect" ?

Peace. T.

I have guys there that can fit the kit I supply.

Hi Chris....Can you give me a ballpark on what it would cost me to get your DBW CC kit fitted to an auto? And how long does the installation typically take?

Cheers. T.

Presentation, Unfortunately in this day you have to sell yourself. T'shirt & thongs will get you nowhere regardless of personal wealth.

As you said unfortunately... 2 many people are judged on presentation these days and that is a real shame, however if that occurs to me the sale is normally lost.

Having a nice car or house does not show you to be worth diddly squat.

I am sorry to say this, if I choose to look at a car in T-Shirt and thongs it makes no difference to the amount of money I have.

Want to Buy something special you can bid for the G35 that featured in The Fast and Furious 4 movie.

it was only in there for a few shots then got blown up :P

and it's got the Ken Style body kit on it. like mine :P

OMG - that is one very fugly ............... (long silent ala Jeremy Clarkson) .............. V35 Skyline/G35 Infiniti...

I feel sorry for the wanker who ever fork out the money to buy that horrid thing.... even sorrier if he's seen driving in it...

It really turns the car looking like a hotted up Hyundai coupe... better keep that car in the states to the yanks' taste and don't it let loose on our road...

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
