G'Day guys,

Looking to get an R32 which I will drive on the road, but would like to slowly build it up for track days also. Due to current outlays, the only way I can do this is to swap my 2004 R1. Its an awesome bike, very well maintained and with some unique carbon fibre bits.

All info here.

Any questions welcome.

Cheers

keep the r1..

Ha, yes I do feel that when I ride it for sure!! I love this thing, but just dont use it anymore. I have never tracked it, but from having used to race sports sedans in QLD, I have the itch again and Superlap looks like a cool thing. So a change would be good for something I could thrash a bit, my Mercedes is awesome too, but cant imagine fanging around a track in it!! :D

Love the R1 mate! I've got a big HP R33 and also a R1 and I must say the R1 gives me more of a thrill than the Skyline.. Will have to be a serious R32 to out do your R1! Good luck with the sale :)

if your planning on building a car for superlap... then why cant you still hang on to the r1?? as far as superlap cars go... $11000 is small change. one day, maybe a year or so from now, you'll want to take it out for a fang, and there it will be, in its capsule type cover, just waiting.. its not worth selling unless you really have to.. im guessing youve spent close to what you want for it on the parts alone.

people pay more for art, that just hangs on the wall and does sweet f/a, that thing is both art, and exciting

id pay $11000 just to have it in the garage, sitting on pit stands.

Problem is I have too much stuff! Due to starting a family I went out and have just bought a 2005 3.0 R Spec B Liberty Wagon. Its an awesome car, but I am now stretched out to pay it off. I also have a 1967 300SEL with a RB30 Turbo motor in it. Great fun, cool as car, but of course it soaks the cash as well!! So the only way I can play with a new toy (like a superlap car) is to exchange my bike to do it. Whether I sell it or trade it for something doesnt matter. So now I have my partners old car to sell, and my R1. $11,000 you say? Id take that for sure.

Hey bro, have sent you a PM - interested in talking more about the swap.....

Hey mate, cheers for the offer. Was really looking for a R32. I tried to reply but I am new here and havent posted 10 times yet! Will keep the offer in mind tho. Thanks.

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
