Rally Registration

Does SA have a rally registration system?

Want to be able to get a track car, imported under road/rally import scheme, to and from events and repairs, Slim chance Im sure.

Ill be calling Transport SA on monday but until then...

should be able to as far as i know. there's been rally cars regod here before from memory

ask the monkhouses, they'll probably know a bit more if anything

Call Transport SA at least 3 times to get 3 different people... because all those 3 people will give you 3 completely different stories. They're hopeless.

Thats a form to register an unregistered car, eg permit. Very useful but im looking for a long term solution solution as permits are only valid for a maximum of 3 days.

I'm pretty sure that the permits are the only way if you actually want to drive the car to and from the event.

Car trailer is the only real long term solution that I know of.

there is historic rego, where ur required to fill out a log book and i always thought there was sumthing similar for race/rally cars??

So it turns out its not too hard too get but you must compete in 1 Rally each year to keep the licence. The only tarmac rallies in SA are Classic Adealide and ASP or something similar too that. Both off which are not something Id usually do and easy/cheaper to just get permit.

There was a porsche with Rally rego that came from SA that did the Dutton Rally when I did it in Nov 2008..

Could look at doing a "tarmac rally" interstate like Victoria or NSW..Australian Tarmac challenge is a good one to do ATC Click on me!!!!!
