Nick378
I just did a test fit for the new turbo, a t3-t4. I think i would need a t3 flange as a spacer between the manifold and the turbo what do you think? And for the wastegate, i was going to weld it on the manifold but i realize that i might not have the sapce i would need to. I'm not to sure about this maybe you can help me? Here's the picture of the place. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/269944-fitting-of-new-trubo-with-wastegate-position-help-pic/ Share on other sites
Guilt-Toy
yes. you do. i spotted one on my garage floor last weekend. I am not sure how it got there though lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/269944-fitting-of-new-trubo-with-wastegate-position-help-pic/#findComment-4593440 Share on other sites

I am not sure how it got there though lol lol, since i'm in Canada, the shipping would cost more than the flange lol I gotta find longer stud i guess! And for the wastegate, any of you have an idea? Oh and for the clearance, i turned by 20 degree anticlockwise the front housing, tell me that this was safe and i did'nt f**ked up my turbo! Yes thats fine to do. The only thing you need to make of is that the oil drain is as close to vertical as possible. You can get sandwich-plate type spacers that incorporate a wastegate into them but this effectively brings the turbo very close to the strut tower. I reckon you could fit a wastegate on top of your manifold just where it collects at the turbo flange but alot of mucking around. You could also weld the wastegate onto the actual turbine housing, again alot of mucking around because of the materials you are dealing with. Considered going lowmount stainless manifold with gate of even highmount? Considered going lowmount stainless manifold with gate of even highmount? To make this possible, i will have to turn the rear housing by 90 degree. When i turn the front housing i doesn't change the slope of the oil drain. As you can see on the picture, i received the turbo with the oil plug horizontal and the water plug vertical. I don't know if i can turn the rear housing also. Do you have a picture of sandwich plate spacer? And where i can buy these? Yeah i have consider going hight mount or low mount but i cant afford an hks at 1800$ I could pay 800 canadian $ tax in but i'm already over budget since a while lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/269944-fitting-of-new-trubo-with-wastegate-position-help-pic/#findComment-4593586 Share on other sites
Guilt-Toy
you can spin the rear housing, undo the bolts on the rear housing to loosen it up Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/269944-fitting-of-new-trubo-with-wastegate-position-help-pic/#findComment-4593613 Share on other sites
