To all interested SAU SA members and financial (paid) members of SAU SA:

A quick reminder (again :P) that your nomination/voting forms will need to be received by Sunday 24th May 2009 @ 1pm at Ministry of Bass, along with your membership form and fee if you have not done so already. PM me for an email address to send the completed forms to, and bank details for your payment, if you cannot do this in person.

I've had many enquiries about who to select. I can't and won't tell you who to select. PM me if you want to know who I am considering, but you must do your own "shopping around". I will advise you however now of the paid members of SAU SA and members who have lodged their form (but are yet to pay) ...

Paid members:

RubyRS4 (Reuben)

Damo_R34 (Damien)

Rodders211 (Rodney) - (I still need your form Rodney)

SLED (Pete)

Type_Vu (Vu)

Lovemy32 (Anthony)

mrRS4 (Brendan)

YOUWISH (Lex)

Jamesrb25 (James)

Krishy (Krishneel)

RBWARE (Shane)

MissR34 (Cara)

To come: (a little nudge for you guys) ;)

Hostile (Martin)

FR33K

Bunny33 (Kellie)

NeneRS260 (Janene)

GRIM (Ben)

Sapphiregraphics (Troy)

Destroy (Chad)

MattyR31 (Matty)

I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting. I'm at work now and have things to do, so I'll add to this when I have a clearer head.

The list is not limited to those paid members above. If you have a nominee, get their approval that they'd be interested in a position and encourage them to join SAU SA. Committee Members are required to be paid members.

Electing the Committee:

Met briefly with a small group last night, including Shane and Martin (former SVD guys) and I've agreed with their thinking on how the first SAU SA Committee should be voted in. Namely ...

Vote forms will be collected from paid members. The interim Committee will look to count the votes to fill the Secretary position first. Once the member has been notified of the position and they have accepted it, the Interim Committee will step away from the votes and hand over the authority/responsibility to the Secretary to fill the remaining Committee positions according to number of votes and best suited person for the positions. Therefore the nomination for the Secretary position is crucial.

The Secretary position will not be an easy position. The Secretary is deemed pretty much the busiest person on the Committee. So whomever you vote for Secretary would need to be very much a dedicated enthusiast, be firm in their position, and have a good knowledge of other members to select the best Committee they can from the votes.

Term:

It has been discussed that Committee positions will be renewed/re-elected around mid January each year. Therefore, the first Executive Committee for SAU SA will be for approximately 7 months. This will help voters for the next election to get a feel for who is best suited on the Executive Committee. So ... the first SAU SA Committee have 7 months to prove themselves :)

PM me your email address if you wish to obtain copies of the forms. :(

Good luck.

Shane/Martin, if I've missed out anything or am incorrect on anything above, please advise.

Do I have your email addy Dohmar? The forms have been updated, so I'd like to get you the 'fresh' ones. Lodging the old forms won't hurt in any case if you've already completed them ... as some guys have already done so.

I did. But could only reply to one PM every 5 minutes or so ... and I had a few to answer. So I had to go away and come back. Stupid rules :)

    • Pressure when IDLING, is meant to be 51PSi... So that amperage value needs to go up a fair chunk... I'd personally be factoring for more like 12amp at least on those runs, and at that point you need to hope the already there wiring doesn't drop you a volt or two, as that's a lot of fuel pressure flow drop off from 13.5 to 12V! Taking idle pressure of 51psi, means the pump will be drawing a MINIMUM of 9amps all the time based on your reading of the graph (3bar base, then allowing an extra 0.5bar for boost = roughly 51psi)
    • Hi all,  I am in the market for an R200 longnose diff out of a Z31 300ZX, or S12 RSX, DR30 skyline, or similar, in a 3.9 ratio.  Preferably a late model one with the M12 crownwheel bolts.  The only easy to find advert for one of these was my ad back in 2007 when I sold it on this forum.  I sold the diff as I had sold the car it goes to, but as it turns out, after 18 years I got the car back late last year, so now I'm looking for the diff !  If anyone knows where to find a longnose R200 LSD with the M12 crownwheel bolts, drop me a line at [email protected] - Bonus paid if soomeone comes up with the original diff (stranger things have happened !).  Cheers   Ben D
    • Hi everyone, I used to post here a bit from 2004-2013, when I owned various Nissans, in particular my S12 RSX gazelle, which was sold in 2007.  As luck would have it, after an 18 year hiatus, the car found its way back to me last year, and over the past 11 months I have had the pleasure of restoring it with my kids.  One thing that I am after in particular is a 3.9 ratio R200 LSD for it.  I actually sold the one out of the car here back in 2007 , and it would be incredible if I could track down who I sold it to, so I can see how they have progressed over the years (and to be honest, to see whether I can get the diff back !).  Anyways, hi all and let me know "where are the R200 Longnose diffs all at these days ?  Cheers Ben D
    • Arms will be the same as the G35 or 350Z, but as above, there was a change in the lower control arm where it connects to the ball joint.  That said, you can remove the ball joint cone from your old ball joints and fit them to the new ball joints.  To be honest, I didn't think the ball joints themselves were different. The main ball joint is a bit awkward to replace, you really need to remove the steering knuckle to press out the old one.  Some people have used tools to remove it in place, but it just seemed too hard to get to. If you are going to press out/in that ball joint, then you may as well just replace the bushings in the LCA and the compression rod.  You can buy the compression rod bushing from Nissan, but the LCA bushes, you will need to go aftermarket. Much cheaper than buying the whole arm.
    • Ha, well, it's been.... a bit of a journey. Things have taken much longer than I'd hoped. I'll probably put up a thread at some stage. Hopefully soon. The car's not done any kms since my update in June though, put it that way.
