First off I tried searching, checked the first few pages and found nothing, but I wasn't goin to look through 49 pages worth.

Anyway my question is basically what years did Nissan manufacture the R32 in a 4 door version?

I've noticed mainly 1989 models, which turns me off a little bit as thats now a 20 year old car. Searching carsales I noticed one 1990 model and one 1991 model, since these were the first I've seen, I wasn't sure f it was a typo or not.

So basically just after a little bit of history here, I'm sure there's some Skyline history people out there who know exactly what I want to know.

Thanks, Tom.

PS I am just asking as 4 door R32's have always been one of my favourites, and I am considering selling my 180SX to find a good one (with hopefully some cash for rims/coilovers, stock 180SX sucks haha).

The r32 my engine was out of was a 92 or a 93 rb25de :P

Uh, ok, but I'm asking about production.

89-94 as far as im aware

Really? I thought the 2 door was manufactured 89-93 and the GTR went the extra year from 89 to 94. I've mainly noticed 89 4 door models and as I said the one 90 and one 91 models.

the 89 four door i had was quite a straight clean car, all comes down to how well the previous owner

looked after it, i had sum anal asian guy own mine before me, no rust no dents nothing wrong what so ever

Some applications on the net like carsales and ammi don't recognise the 1989 skyline as an r32, only an r31. This is because the r32 started production in 1989 while they were still running the r31.

So I guess they just decided to change the r32's starting year to 1990 so it wouldnt be confusing...

As for being 20 years old..ask any skyline owner what kind of shape their car was in from import and I'm pretty sure everyone will say great. Japan has a turn over of their cars every 5 years to keep their economy booming, they raise the tax or something on old cars so its cheaper to buy a new car than keep the old one. Japan doesn't wnt them so thats why they get imported here. I've had my 1989 gts-t 4door for a month, I'm the second australian owner and I got it with 104,000km.

It's very rare to find a skyline thats got alot of k's on it. Finding a late 90's model holden with that low k's is pretty hard. It's only when you're looking at a skyline thats been owned by an aussie that you need to watch out for - in the sense of driving conditions here compared to japan.

Good luck car searching. r32's are the hottest looking skyline :D

Just found this forum aswell...

OH YOUNG GRASSHOPPER. YOU HAVE MUCH TO LEARN!!!!

Do you honestly think a 20 year old car has only done 70-120,000kms... Oh you make me laugh..

Let me spell it out for you. Rolling back odometers... I have been involved in the used car industry both local cars and imports.. All I can say is, if you live by your words quoted and you buy a car based off kms... Then god so help you sunshine.

For disclaimers sake. I no longer work in such a shady industry! So please no flaming!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
