hi all,

i've got a GENUINE titanium black nismo gear knob for sale.

its still in the original box with the japanese instruction manual. i bought it from unique auto sports here in Sydney for $189 a few months ago and its been sitting in my room ever since!

before i bought this one, i bought one that looked like this on ebay which ended up going in the bin - it was a copy and although it looked similar it wasnt as glossy, didnt screw on tight and didnt weigh as much.

the gear knob has no visible marks, scratches or dents! its still as good as new. i've screwed it on to my car once just to see how it looks, but i'm pretty attached to my stock gear knob :bunny:

will sell it for $150 including registered post to anywhere in australia.

pickup from the hills district is also available.

please call me on 0434 929 257 if you are interested!

any questions, please ask!

cheers

hi ryan41, i tried to PM you but it didnt work!?

anyway, as discussed on the phone - i will do some research to see if this knob will fit an s15.

my mate used to have one of these on his s15, but i dont know if he modded it to fit or if it just screwed on. the insides just plastic so you could easily mod it if it doesnt fit straight up - but thats up to you.

he still has the car so at worst i'll still be able to see if it just screws on as is.

i'll let you know the result. :(

cheers for all the info guys!

fits a 33 gtr perfectly, fitment issues were caused by my own stupidity with the boot! some of the nice guys on here gave me the sense of direction i needed in this thread - http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...ob-t273893.html :(

just checked the box, it has a lot of japanese writing on it and then it also says 10mm. so - it is definately a 10 mm knob.

have recieved a few pm's in the past hour or so with offers! please call me to work out a deal and finalise if your interested. (its easier than sending so many pm's - i can only send one every 5 minutes so would take ages to reply to the 4 of you).

cheers! :(

if i didnt already have one of these it would be sold already.

Exactly the same car, exactly the same name, exactly the same forum manner (lots of "!" marks and "" with no capitals). Exactly the same way of looking to buy something as you did with your GTR (chasing down R34 rims all over the place but not willing to pay what people ask). It's pretty obvious Chris.

You blokes shouldn't jump up and call me an arsehole or a f**kwit without understanding what is going on here. Thread reported to mods.

    • 12+ months passed so they have no obligation to do a warranty claim. It leaked from the rear circuit. Front circuit was fine, but I tried many times to bench-bleed and in-car bleed (wasted 1L of Penrite racing brake fluid) to no avail. Threw my old BM50 or whatever the standard R32 GT-R BMC is, brakes went back to normal. So from my very limited anecdotal experience, I cannot recommend HFM, even though a lot of their products looks good. Just my experience (I have a genuine Nissan BM57 in a box waiting to be installed now).
    • How dare you sell your unreliable Skyline and buy a reliable, Toyota/Yamaha car with a strong gearbox, torsen LSD and Toyota reliability. At least you won't need to worry about oil pumps, big catch can, oil restrictors, blowing off power steering belts, sheering off 3rd gear, failing ABS relays/pumps, etc.
    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
