ah dont stress yourself about it. I got done for the same thing recently. I got an awesome inspector at Welshpool and he passed me with heaps of defects still on there. At the end of the day you should prepare for the worst and hope you get a nice inspector.

Have you checked that the exhaust hieght is ok. The cops gave me a flick knife to test my exhaust height. It was probably 80mm from the ground

^^WHS

100mm from the lowest point with a fully loaded car, so if your at 110mm you might still be considered a little too low by the cops.

Also something like 400-500mm from the lowest point of the headlights or something, I never pay much attention to that one.

Basically, if its lowered enough to look good its too low.

I'm pretty sure it does, had a few mates fail because their kits scraped.

I've also heard that even a wire hanging down counts, because if it's for a fuel pump or something, it rips going over a speed bump, the car will suddenly be inmovable causing headaches for everyone. That's what I've heard anyway.

Point is, kits are included in the too low rules.

Yer i work at DPI, but that doesnt mean i will get a nice inspector.

Rhys - yeah i have coilovers and will just wind 'em up and take my screamer and de-cat pipe out.....might come cruising tomorrow night not sure yet

ADR rules state the you are not allowed to have different rim width front & rear unless your car came with different rim widths from factory.

Anyways, cheers for teh replies, i'll get back to you tomoro, im sleepy now :D

hehe ciao

Stick with the 100mm from the lowest point of the car rule nic, otherwise fools with 20" rims on their fully sick honda accord Si's that are FAR too low will be more legal than an dumped XA falcon (for instance) with standard 12-slotters.

mates escort pano's lowering block u-bolts were 120mm from the ground, and had like 14x8 custom jelly beans. coppers sent him on his merry way. cop measured a brick that he found to around 100mm and stuck it underneath...

gotta love country cops. normally don't spell it with an 'o', but 'flamin mongrelry' cops doesn't make sense.

Yeh, when it comes to ride height, 100mm is the lowest point of the car. That's for everything (kits, cats....mmm kit-kats).

My mate just took his R33 over the pits and he got failed on his rims being too big (R33 gts-t with 19x8.5s all round), and having a spoiler on the boot but not having a brake light in there (as u need a brake light at eye level so they). However, i have taken the spoiler off my car, as you know Rhys.

I might come just to the meet point tonight for the cruise....im sick as a dog atm so i'll see

Unlucky man, I almost got yellowed the other day cause the cops were saying my tyres were to big.....lucky for me it started to rain and they went 'f**k it'

Sorry to highjack, but.....

Are 235's on the front and 255's on the back to large for a R32 GTS-T??

I mean, it is right on the guard, and may even stick a mil over....

Yeah Id say it is.

What are the widths of your wheels?

Your not supposed to go with anything much wider than the widest that came with that car.

So you can argue that the GTR came out with 8" wheels and try get away with say 8.5"?

Any wider and it's too wide unless you get permits/engineers.

Sad but true.

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
