I know this a really old thread but its as close as I can find to my problem.

I'm installing a an M60 into my car and I cannot get the boot release to fire.  If I Hold button 2, for 3 sec and I get four flashes of the alarm but no pulse from CH2, Output wire.  (This is what I expected, although the manual is very light on) I checked if CH 2 was an earth switch wire but again nothing.

Struggling with this. Does anyone know the problem?

Found the problem. I had wired +12V to the wire and it had blown a chip in the alarm. The manual only gives a small cryptic reference to the wire being an earth by putting a (-) in one place. Thanks to the guys at Mongoose for replacing that chip. They were very helpful and with a relay in place the system now works well.

I know this is a very old thread but just in case someone else needs it, to turn on/off the turbo timer for the m60 and I believe m80, you have to press both button 2 and button 3 simultaneously while the ignition is on.

Also, here are the programming instructions

(Note: this is from my m60 manual)

Drivers door must be open

Within 15 seconds of opening the door (note: Seems to really just be within de-arming the immobiliser), turn the ignition ON/Off the number of times for the programming feature (e.g. 3 times for remote code learning)

Siren will then chirp the same number of times as the programme number.

Press button one to turn the feature ON siren chirps once, lights flash once.

Press button two to turn feature OFF siren chirps twice, lights flash twice.

Leave system for 10 seconds system quickly chirps 3 times (lights flash 3 times) to show exit of programming mode

Ign on/off Feature Button one (on) Button Two (Off)

3 Remote code learning

4 Ignition Door Lock ON OFF

5 Siren Chirps ON OFF

6 Turbo Timer Each press = 1 minute

Siren chirps for minutes set, max 5 mins

7 Last Door Arming ON OFF

8 Door Diagnostics ON OFF

9 Engine Immobiliser ON OFF

10 Siren or Horn Siren Horn

11 CDL Pulse 0.8 Sec 3.5 Sec

12 NSW Siren Timing ON OFF

(CDL = Central locking)

Cheers

Vapo

Necroing this thread in 2025 to say thanks! The Manual for the m60 still has the wrong instructions and says to only press button 2 with ignition on.

You are a champ, thank you.

    • The spray cans were in the "Kiln" room whilst I was preping the parts,  so probably around 2 hours to get them warmed up, the kiln room has 3 small ovens running at 100°c, 3 medium sized ovens running 100°c, and the large one I used running at 80°c, the room itself was about 28°c, I also spent a bit of time taping up the parts in the room as well, and by the time I was done I would assume that the parts were around that 28°c As for power, I expect a couple of Killerwasps up high would be achievable with the current mods, I'm still running the MZR 2.0 intake and throttle body, and there is a slight mismatch with the 2.0 intake (smaller) and 2.5 intake ports (larger) on the head, this intake is matched and specifically designed to fix this issue with the ports mismatch, the throttle body is also a couple of mm larger, OEM is 65mm, the Bosch is 68mm In the end it will look "prettier" than the molded plastic thing that is the OEM MZR 2.0 intake As for the LSD, it's the OEM Torsen which works fine for what I use the car for, plus, basically no maintenance apart from the occasional oil change
    • I was at Tunehouse in Marrickville (great team over there really know their VR's) , and I spotted this Very clean R35.
    • Mate , I have the same issue right now with the exhaust noise , if you can tell me what your local guy did , I'll talk to my guys and see if they can do the same. Power is good but it just too loud when put it down.
    • The other trick I've found with wrinkle black is to put the can in hot water for a bit to warm the paint up, and to pre-heat whatever you're painting. It'll be interesting to see if you pick up any power with the intake, following with interest. Got a proper lsd for this?
