Hello Guys/Girls,

I wouldn't normally do this, but I am after a stock exhaust manifold for my r33 GTST, fairly urgently.

By wanting I do NOT want, re-welded or machined manifolds, preferably someone who has either recently upgraded would be very cool if you have one available, in good condition.

Thanks people :()

You could say that Kym..ehehe..I had been driving her a little hard over the past few weeks and last week the manifold just gave way entirely due to the heat.

It was funny taking it to pieces because the crack was huge, right through the centre and almost a perfect circle all the way around. Any extra weight and it would've snapped like a twig.

In a way it's good though, it's forcing me to clean the ex side of the motor down properly where I couldn't quite reach before and inspect turbo a bit better..no shaft play which is good.

It's not exactly the most accessable area to work in (the only thing about japanese cars i don't like!), but within an hour it was all to pieces. :)

I left those studs practically floating in CRC overnight before even trying to undo them for that very reason  snapped studs would not have been a good addition ehehe.

For a while there I was almost tempted to sell off my stock exhaust hardware and use that as an excuse to puchase a slightly larger GT 30'series, custom manifold, injectors, new compy and some other goodies, but I'm just wanting it back on the road asap atm, I'll play with it after exams if anything ;)

Did you end up replacing the broken studs or just leaving them and tightening around them? I don't think any of the ppl I know bother replacing them when they break, they just tighten around them the best they can normally.

Dam heavy right foot hey :)

People seem to tell me that alot.. ehehe

Yeah I was quite surpised at the extent of the damage around the casting, I'd never seen an RB manifold crack like that before either..it's very artistic, the kind of thing you really would want to put on your mantlepiece :)

I'll have to bring it down and show you @ kwinana sometime, seeing as we'll all be back down there again shortly.

Sweet as Kym! I saw your car near Omni during the day a few weeks ago btw, she is purring like a kitten and sounding very strong. You haven't flowed or changed your stock turbo have you?

Yeah I learnt the hard way snapping studs on other cars..CRC is your friend though :P

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
